Embers of Love
The days draw on
And your touch
Is like a
Permanent glove
Your heat
Equates mine
Fire with fire
We are alight
And burn
And burn
Until there is no more...

Leonhard Euler Once Said To His Son
Leonhard Euler once said to his son,
“Hey kid, c’mere, look what I’ve done!
     The exponential of pi,
     First multiplied by i,
Exactly equates to minus one. ”...

Serenity
I'm tired but
inspired.
Nappy but
happy.
Weary but
cheery.
What a hoot!
It does compute.
As I sit and mutter,
I'm all in a flutter.
And, serenity equates
with equanimity.
The End....

Silence
Silence
Sound without noise abound
Only its hiss are all around
Revelation of pure thought in spark
A chance of a sort
 in the silence like dark
A space to fill
And sound an interlude, noise
If you so do will

Gone are companies sorely wasted
lone one avast a friend become
Isolation to words in my head
Equates silence to being dead....

Significance of Forty
Significance of Forty

Forty, a number that equates to 14,600 days,
Life begins at forty, as some folks say!
Forty winks of sleep, is that really enough,
To keep your head from feeling quite rough!
Forty, has letters sequentially placed in alphabetical order.

Branded
If fame equates to power
Then my power dwarfs the tower
For even those in power
Want to rid me out of cower

Though I'm just an ordinary
Many want a bite of me
My fame sparked a mutiny
So the greater world could see

The tale they made out of me
Was just like a boomerang
At first it struck me
But it came back and it rang

Now I am branded
Though my fame was not intended
But such fame was the tower
For the greater world to ponder...

Some Noises
Some noises startle, jolt or jar
While others soothe or soften.
We perk up for the new but tune out
Those we hear quite often.

To locals, city sirens make
The tiniest impression
But visitors consider them
A barbarous transgression.

The hum of traffic rolling by
To urbanites equates
With cricket chirps or chickadees
In countryside debates.

The noises that surround us
Are as varied as our homes
Or the subjects and the wording
Of a plethora of poems....

Unique
The soul walks through a cemented dream
One concrete path towards destiny
Walking alone equates to testing fate
Surely it is taboo to be unique
One concrete path towards destiny
Discussion over what lies in between is blasphemy
Surely it is taboo to be unique
Forbid any uncommon thought or word

Premium Member Journeys
Some journeys are worth
the cost –

some are not...

and we do pay, one
way or another; even those taken
by mind alone have an Electrical
Transit-fee – the price of a meal’s
stored energy –

       also, time, when foolishly
wasted, equates to wealth squandered
(time is money, I’ve been told)

but, the greatest loss, a chance to
increase one’s capacity for love –
which, I sense, is the only resource,
of any value, that would have
merit
beyond
the grave…...
