Dc Ember

When you are out in the frosty air
Its easy to have an affair
The people you meet
All generate heat
And cold feet just love warm flesh bare!

Ember

From time to time I remember
The memories of her glowing ember
As we walked the streets of Timber
On the fair month of September.

Ember
Each heart has a spark
Making love fires ablaze
Burning, eagerly
Enduring this lusty craze
Romance steams, a loving haze

Premium Member Dying Ember

On parting of ways often crassness slays sentiments tender since hearts are asunder. It's best to release habit borne disease that's outlived it's use and now spews abuse. 21-November-2022

Heatwave

I aim and shoot for the sun
Blind me, I come undone
I feel the heat beneath my skin
Your iridescent soul within
Meets mine
Like a heatwave in December,
You're the flame from the ember
You're what I remember
When you go down
You stay close to me

Premium Member Just An Ember

So tough to remember
My time as an ember
Keep a flicker alive
To let a flame arrive
Kindness does fuel one's heart
A noble way to start
Cradle me in your hand
Rush to hearth burning grand
Then become light again
Feel the heat, not the pain
Love's brightest defender
Remember the ember

Golden Ember

Moments of gold
Ones to remember
Impossible to hold
Golden flakes of ember

Luminous dust
Twinkling hope
Unceasing gust
Of agile smoke

Won’t be attained
Can’t be secured
As with all good things
The lines are blurred

Inhale the haze
And hold your breath
The ethereal blaze
Warns of death

A Dying Ember

Without the comfort of your hand to hold
Aimlessly, I wander about in the dark
No hint of warning had been foretold
I am a dying ember without a spark

Forbearance and faith is what I need
and a love so true that I might heal
My painful wound continues to bleed
   Emotional heartache, I cannot conceal

Burning Ember

If there remains the slightest breath of warmth in an ember
let it be tendered with care
so that it may begin to brighten-
then burst forth into a dancing flame
stepping up to illuminate desires
once thought lost, cooled by insensitive means
Let it relight the way through the chamber door
and burn brightly for ever more

Flame Brighter Than Ember

A-s the Wednesday has come,
G-ray fades into the night;
N-ew dawn has broken,
E-arly morn is in
S-ight.

L-et eighth of merry March
A-im to warm your heart;
C-old chill is over,
S-unrise makes a start.
A-fter the pouring rain, blue sky gets even better;
O-pen your eyes to beacon bringing flame brighter than ember.

Brighter Than Ember

S-un third of March
H-as just begun to shine;
A-llowing the Friday to come, making you feel well and fine.

S-hadows of the night
A-re all nowhere in sight;
P-ure delight is truly brought,
L-ight has set things aright.
A-llow the day to break,
C-oal clouds don't gather;
O-nce the sky gets blue, the dawn is brighter than ember.

Night and War

Ominous echoes
hush the song of eternity.

Sky is an ember:
Black and red and untouchable.

Night extends
Till day seems impossible.

Echoes stab the night
Till it crumbles over our heads.

The air bleeds.
The eyes fall shut

Seeking an escape,
Yet the violent glares blind.

Merciless glares replicate;
The night is darker than ever.

The Last Ember

as the dying ember
fades within a skin of grey
hiding its blushing red face
as it shrinks away
the huddled group lies down now
to stir, to slumber,
having a last smoke before turning in
and they warmly cuddle
in their social sleeping huddle
but inevitably grows cold
and so we all grow old
as our embers burn and blush and dies
my, how quickly time flies!

Premium Member Evening Ember Glow

Written: March 14, 2025, for contest Sponsored by: Constance La France ***************** After the rain, the air smells musty and moist, and smoke swirls clumsily upward from chimneys, as they float away, the leaves crackle and rattle. Mulled wine soothes the spirit on cold nights, our eyes feast on the blazing fire as the sun sets.

Premium Member Tender the Ember

Let not loves measure
once be forsaken.
Let not loves measure
ever be taken.
Love is together
Love is elation.
Love is pleasure
and creation.
Let not loves measure
once be forsaken.

Love is a kiss
on a miserable day.
Love gives us passion
yet, brings us pain.
Love gives us tears
flooding in waves.
Tender the ember
Kindle the flame.
Love is beyond Measure
an Eternal Domain.

Watching the hourglass passing time

While sipping water kissed with lime

The distant bells softly start to chime

Their echoes weave a gentle rhyme

Deepening shadows move like a mime

Slow dancing near the scents of thyme

They push ahead starting their climb

Yielding to shining stars in their prime

The scale of beauty is nature’s dime

Missing such splendor should be a crime

Where Frozen Ember Still Burn

Where frozen ember still burn
I find you are gone.
You may not come back.
In my heart is the place where frozen ember still burn.
The love we once had is all but gone.
Even when my heart is burning and even if frozen embers still burn.
The healing will soon be gone, but my heart is where the frozen ember still burn.
For you and only you the love of embers still burns in your cold frozen heart.

Ember

Thy scarlet rise, thy wistful blur

I delve, into thine purest passion

and taste the ember

of our crazed pollution.

Thy lash, thy whipping break

I, hither under thine blooming scuffle

soothe the yoke of this moment

with the edge of epiphany's

final gasp.

Sink thine breath into mine marrow,

and live within me,

within this embrace.

Premium Member Gone Away

Gone away the love I freely gave.
Burning up like fire once maintained to save.

White washed emotions practiced so long.
Extinguish a love the ember is gone.

Suddenly it is gone no right no wrong.
In love's aftermath the week grow strong.

Where love goes can't surely be said.
Living amongst the holy or perhaps the dead.

Where does love go? Where has love gone?
Where does love go? When love is gone.

Chandelier Versus Ember

Chandelier versus ember

                             Chandelier
                     Aureate, resplendent
            Swinging, glistening, attracting
A steady hope; A crushed dream
                  Burning, defeating, fading
                              Dark , dull
                                 Ember

An Ember

It’s hard to find a comparison
to what we had, when sharing some
I’m sure I could try to judge
But what gave us was such a flood
Hard to find those words
Without being typically perverse

Recalling each touch now
Was like never having felt before
My body was shuddering
You know I wanted much more

Ecstasy so hard to describe
I was an ember in a fire
You kept fanning the flames
Until they grew into a rage
Exploding in pleasure and pain

Midday Haze: A Reprise

I wait for hazy clouds to soften noon— The world dims as shadows drag out hues. Burnt cement stops sizzling, sparrows quiet their off-beat chatter, my sore eyes shut in relief— a final note, the muted outro— Until the clouds scatter. The familiar heat shatters breezes into embers filtered through a stinging azure. So I sit back and wait. In stasis, with the cluttered city, for silence to fall again—
