Burning Ember
If there remains the slightest breath of warmth in an ember
let it be tendered with care
so that it may begin to brighten-
then burst forth into a dancing flame
stepping up to illuminate desires
once thought lost, cooled by insensitive means
Let it relight the way through the chamber door
and burn brightly for ever more
