An Angry Cliche
I have lost the edge
no idea or theory as to its dulling
I am on the edge
my sanity has succumbed to culling.

i am become madness....

Dust and humdrum mute my senses, blurring.. fading.. dulling.
Vehicles scream, jolt me awake. I stare into the distance,
the oblivion. The bustle inspires...... and I write....

These Woman
They are the softeners
Voicing breezy sweet.
Alleviating all at once
Living; and its heat.

Softeners; strengtheners;
Shady tree's head-rest!
Dulling the twin pains beneath;
World's; its hard-fought test....

Last Crimson Swirl
Drowning in self degradation
Deliberate affliction is exacerbating
Crystalline facade dulling senses
Normalcy, forgetting our consensus

Fading Foolishly
Weeping petals made of roses
Soft like your smile
Foolish am I for waiting
While you haunt my heart
With insincerities
Smothered by silence
Crumbled is my desire
Thirsting for the river
Glistening like silky flesh
Of the only love I know
Caught in its own end
Hanging across a barbed fence
Hurtling through corridors
Dulling slowly
Fade to black...

Sweet Reunion
Sweet anticipation of reunion
Bare emotions exposed
Passion vs. passion
Sweltering steaming hot
A tender kiss erupts

Soft music beckoning
The meeting of two souls
Silence speaks in volume
Echoing what is known

Candle lights appealing
Helping natural flow
Two hearts exploding
Dulling senses rise
Mimicking volcanic action
Ruptures in perpetual flow...

Saved
Kid protested,
That he had to play,
He had played just enough,
Still he thought more was needed,
Probably he was right,
But he could not get the time in sight,
Jack was not dulling here,
For want of play,
But because of play,
Jack could just about fail,
I numbed his protest,
And made him hold the book,
He took the bitter pill,
And now says,
That he was saved....

Beginning
Its dark and cold
The snow just started to fall
Winter is raging on
And the stars refuse to shine

Roaming around the world
Restless and alone
It seems as if my life is over
But no, it still moves on

The dark is dulling
The cold is warming
The winter is ending
My heart is flying

Roaming around the world
Happy as I've ever been
It seems my life would just have ended

But its only beginning...

hello
it is weird....
because I know we've talked a few times today, but I don't remember what was said.
i can't decide whether dulling my mind is a good thing or not
wretchedness is a trip...
and, not to weigh heavy onya,
you inspire and enlighten me... my God, coral! you carry so much with such grace.
I wish i could make it easier
'til then, I'lll just try to keep my heart in the right place....

Premium Member String of Lights
Listen to poem:
String of Lights
David J Walker

Stretching as far back as
I can remember
A string of lights shines
(one at a time)
On each day

The wall plug energizes from
Deep within the last century
Dulling each mise-en-scène
That is numbered

As I walk down its namesake lane
The nearest shine bight
(At last fading into a distant past) as
The bulbs flicker their luster and
Vanish from sight...

Never4long
The pangs of hunger
racking your every sense
dulling you from over use
is but temporary.
The slow decay
and setting rigor mortis
freezing your last stance
is but temporary.
That burning feel
of numbing digits
from wrist to finger tips
is but temporary.
The longing feel
of emptiness
of lost love flooding your heart
is but temporary.
The suspense
of this poet's thriving angst
is but temporary....

Suicide Survives
Fictitious families
Dysfunctional means
Compromised children
Capricious teens

Serrated self-loathing
Culling scarred skin
Dapper diagnoses
Dulling depression’s din

Psychotropic pulses
Sedentary screams
Subjugated subjects
Catharsis of dreams

Dusk dawning
In convenience’s vanity
Vociferous voices
Pilfering sedated sanity

Slurred smiles
Lithium lies
Hanging from vestiges
Suicide survives...

Surge
Grey skies
Dark tones
Enclosed by cold

Dark soil
Dulling peat
Around your feet.

Wand’ring eyes
Raised heads
Heavy hearts of lead.

Sullied Gold
Sullied Hearts
Seeking Sapphire Love

Sapphire, Love.
Downcast, love.

Surging into an array of emotions:

Violet feelings
White Emotions
Beige Thoughts
Hazel feelings
Reclusiveness
Resilient, yet filled with loneliness

Fading light
Diming Tones
Barren Void...

When Things Are Not Meant To Be
What would have pumped life to a dulling heart
What could have been the realization of a dream,
What should have made better tomorrows than today,
Came a little too late, so it seems.

         Give it a rest
      And be contented.

For who’s to know what there is today
   Amounts somewhat much lesser
When there is naught one righteous
   To judge which is better,
And in thus may regret be unhanded, set free
When things are not meant to be....

Love Is Actually In Your Smile
Your luminous smile brings a joy to my weary heart
Melting my insides with anticipation
Making me feel like a priceless work of art
Loving each new sensation, the pure elation

Without your vibrant smile, my heart would wrench apart
Inconsolable with no motivation
Extinguishing the stars that twinkle in the black night
Dulling the full radiant moon that glowed so bright

Notes To Uncertain Gods
Auroras of rain
Imprint water
On flat roofs
In New Orleans—
Notes written
To uncertain Gods
Dulling brains
In wavering sheens.

Dampness
Burdens air redolent
In organic greenness.

We etch hazy sky
With ancient shadows,
Avoid silences,
Refuse darkness
& quiet walks.

An aureole of grayness
Pulses from fingertips
As we wander in rain,
Hands like hollow things
As millions of raindrops
Do not mean, but are—
A cold, dark beating
Of condor wings....

Memories
Memories are strong
reminding me how
weak I am
At times they feel
like a lifetime away
tiny pieces of myself
suspended in the
dulling haze of
Time
Other times they reach out
and grab onto me
with the desperation
of one helpless and drowning
holding on for fear
of disappearing forever
into the abyss
I try to run away
but the more I resist
the stronger their hold
on me
until I am the one
left helpless and
drowning
Reaching out in desperation
for fear of
disappearing
Forever...

Genderness
Kisses
tie our mouths
to the complexity
of love,
disorienting the brain
and dulling
common sense.

The seeing
become myopic;
missing the forest
and
the trees,
altogether.
and life,
for a short while,
fast tracks mankind
with unbalanced eruptions
of hormonal agitation
and grand expectations.

Their secret
is held well
in the genetic coding
of a womankind
that blends
the faint hint
of freshly-picked apples
in arousing pheromones....

Abisko Day
Abisko Day

It is the intensity of the light I notice. Vivid autumn colours of yellow and gold bathe me in their warmth and brightness.
A deep sense of peace transcends. Can life really be this good. I feel protected. Fears and worries subside, replaced by a joyful sense of being alive and well.
There is no fog dulling my thoughts. Movements free without pain. This perfect moment. The sound of nearby water running over rocks. Otherwise silence and the pure brilliant light...
