Kid protested, That he had to play, He had played just enough, Still he thought more was needed, Probably he was right, But he could not get the time in sight, Jack was not dulling here, For want of play, But because of play, Jack could just about fail, I numbed his protest, And made him hold the book, He took the bitter pill, And now says, That he was saved.
