waiting until someone has gone too far
to say the limit was there

Draw weight heavy sin
Invisible archer fires
God above begged
Listen to the hums
And the whistles above too
He never misses
In this world
so obscured
of brutality,
someone will
efface this darkness,
pass a message
of white purity and draw
a paradise... !
A missile’s disguise is a flower
magnetic, a whiff of its power
Yet when its petals draw near
a new odor appears

I draw a circle
As a symbol
To demonstrate my love
I do not start
To draw a heart
Because a heart can break
So I draw a circle
As a symbol
For a circle goes on forever

your breath dusted
resulting in wrap up

what a prize
what a clever

Saw a Paw Will Use To Draw
What it had been which we all saw,
Was a pleasant person with a paw,
At end of arm,
With much charm,
Who great picture did like to draw.

Man tries to draw bird
Birds true essence eludes him
He still dares to try.

I awoke, and once again
Came the disbelief and pain.
Sat there on my bed I wept,
The agony hidden as I slept.
From my breast my heart was torn,
As long as I draw breath, I'll mourn.
Salute to Quick Draw McGraw
given a fresh new bale of straw
worked as sheriff in the Old West
slightly dimwitted perhaps but always smartly dressed

Did Draw Attention
Should see all the attention I just saw;
Horrible picture which I ever did draw;
Willing to bet,
Worst one yet;
Enough to have really grabbed your claw.

Happy birthday, Doctor Andro,
The singer listens to the sound;
The writer loves to paint and draw,
Making the picture as background.

I recall a young fellow from Quebec
Who was forever saying “What the heck?”
He was quick on the draw,
This was his only flaw
But his deprived wife was a total wreck.

Only you can draw the map
Without contours the uncharted
Ocean of surprise you need to
Buoy your flagging dream
Let it O! Let it arise
Serene on the crest
Of morning: the
Subsiding
Fury of
Your
Self.
Christopher M. Swan 2008
He was a gunfighter so they say
And his life ended thataway
On his tombstone where he lay
Tells us where one might stay
Living day to day
Facing gunplay
And not pray -

I draw the heart alone
on a wall,
I draw the heart on the night.
Wanted to draw my heart
on a heart,
but it always kept itself
out of sight,
never appeared
like the endless common tales
under the sun,
rain or the moonlight.

Laboring in obscurity
my dog forgets my name
The hours pass, the moments fade
with every day the same
My faith a light that dwindles
belief the final straw
In darkness splayed, my hope betrays
—no luck beyond the draw
(The New Room: June, 2022)
I drew the cards
a game of chance
I should have known
the deck was stacked
your poker face strong
as you called my bluff
was it sleight of hand
or luck of the draw
either way, it
was always your call
and I leave the table
with nothing at all
Gasping for a thought like a deep breath exhaled into a pillow tightly smothered wondering when will I take the next.
Muffled screams no one to hear, yelps with no intention of fixing me.
Intention was the reason for sanity now its the reason for pain.
