yesterdays
sunshine rays
hearts ablaze
dragonflies
blue-green eyes
happy sighs
times to share
love so rare
what a pair
Cattails dancing in a breeze by the creek;
Luring dragonflies to drink;
Nature’s beauty yells, “Hi!”
sing to me, windchimes
of eventide's lullaby
beneath dim shadows
when dragonflies reel
farther from the horizon
my soul needs music
From "The Defiant Haiku"
I wonder in what dream one hundred
Years from now he can write Dragonflies
In meadows my little boy – who is fall asleep!
Angels Wings of Dragonflies
Angel wings sing high
Near our pond like dragonflies
Beautiful and free.

Content I was to be a frog,
Devouring dusty dragonflies,
Exposing eyeballs by a log,
Floating 'neath sublime summer skies.
Now I'm a Prince alphabetized.

By the bulrushes,
Where darting blue dragonflies
Flit like neon sparks,
Hover flies pause and patrol,
In the drunken summers haze,
We sat fishing by the lake.
Dragonflies soaring everywhere,
To show that Spring is in the air.
Children coming out to play
And this is what they have to say;
"Spring, Spring, Spring is here today!"
Butterfly love
Faeries and flowers feeling it
Butterfly love
Sweet angels watching from above
Dragonflies flit a little bit
Flying creatures are quite a hit
Butterfly love
From emerald branch
Dragonflies hang suspended
Petals fall too soon.

A Pond’s Melody
dragonflies buzzing
spring peepers chirping for mates
splashing fish jumping for meals
blue herons squawking
bilious bullfrogs croaking
quacking mallards leading young
iridescent wings
resemble stained glass windows
church bells are tolling
the lifespan of a dragonfly can be very short - probably no longer than 7 days

dragonflies touch off
from amongst pond's floating spheres
beauty dares emerge.

a wealth of rubies
cardinals among berries
red hibiscus bloom
crimson sun sinking
leaving vivid trails of fire
on scarlet roses
dragonflies emerge
going everywhere, silent
on soft carmine wings

Dragonflies flew to me now
They know I am true-blue
With patented fly-byes
They stoically ‘fashion'
Inspiring visits
beauty, blessing, fantasy, garden, insect, magic, word play
Dragonflies Wishes ©
Dragonflies set in my yard
I feel doubly blessed by that
With patented fly-byes
They magically anoint
Me in faery dust
summer is alive
bursting with color and life
bright wings take to air
amid the flurry
in spellbinding summer's grip
I'm in a daydream
birds and butterflies
in a whirlwind of delight
as dragonflies drone
Maybe there's little
or no story
tonight
just
the dragonflies
to keep us safe
and warm
protect
me
from love
and keep me
from feeling
cold
and anything
that might feel
new...
Bees are buzzing in their hives
A pony tail swish, deters the flies
Long grass waves, majestic in the wind
And over the pond the dragonflies skim
This halcyon place you love to be
Brings peace and joy eternally.
The pond is quiet today
Bull frogs have had their last harrumph
The hum of the insects is gone
No dragonflies tease the wind
October’s chill hovers in the trees
An Osprey circles
