A Word In Season
Fleeting diversions
Cross the common of life.
Our chance comments often
Indelibly impress,as casual
Acquaintance fade into the void....

Standing amid diversions cobblestone square
She, aside gargoylias ancient flowing fountain....

Frugal, gracious, fret free
Greet you treats

Loneliness
A sliver of light peaks onto my wall
Only to remind there is nothing here at all
Empty space to fill just with time
Days to finish, my infinite prime
Sweet diversions I cling to find
Until darkness falls and escapes into my mind...

Masters Too Fall
Masters too fall, yet rise again
Realigning with source
Ego diversions, to rest lain
Without employing force
Stupor, cause of decline
Thus head with heart align
Under the oneness sign
Recoil recall
Masters too fall
26-November-2021
Quietus ...

Time and Again
Perfection is an illusive pastime,
an unending quest that hides delusion
in uncharted diversions on life's path;
Distractions litter obsession's by-pass,
obstacles spring up unannounced,by chance,
opportunity deflates in despair;
Again,again the siren's call beckons
innocent naivety to regard-
mediocrity nervously breaks down....

Time and Tide Waited Not
Tempest fugit and all of that,
The blink of an eye, and life is gone;
Little things to do cause the days to pass;
Future is meditation, work is done.
The last learning curve to be at peace,
Making room for what once were diversions,
Reading, writing, TV, and pleasing food.
Accepting, accepting, each new pain
With God's Grace....

Outfoxed In the Henhouse
I'm compelled to view some media, such as,
FAUX NEWS, like an illusion they portrayed.
Since their deception is masterfully crafted,
With multiple diversions . . . & truth is belayed.
As if by magic, they've given an audience,
Tasty morsels of manna, to satisfy heartache.
While they coddle and cradle those of privilege,
And true by definition, it's all FAKE!...

Green Hills
GREEN HILLS.
Green hills
Against the blue skies
Etched like a monument
Beyond the laws of desire
Water colours to touch
Green in impassioned fire.
Vast deserts embraced in heart
Sun drenched sandy pleasant of touch
Subduing cosmic storms overhead
In some imagined human crutch.
Perhaps like time and space
Two diversions merging
Reality incomprehended by logic
But a new life comes in conjunction....

Boat Trip
BOAT TRIP
It was a short enough trip - an hour’s
Travel with few diversions near
Which filled us with joy, or brought a tear:
Just different spots between showers.
Fellow passengers showed kindness:
A stranger became a friend,
Kids fell asleep in the end,
Steersman kept a steady progress.
Finally, coming into port,
It didn’t matter where we’d been
Or what we’d seen.
It was a fruitful trip of a pleasant sort....

Enclosed Rhyme
Lost
Fundamental fissures open
endlessly
spilling rain deeply
where the heat is.
A blank white room
with a steady drip for
a clock
is the one to avoid when the diversions
are used up.
Busy lives, busy lies
weave a door that seals
illusions to my soul.
The backward glance
as from a precipice
over a void. entices not to fall
but to float.
Does missing my father
cause the loneliness
or point out the
singular journey....

Analysis of ‘raising Children'
It took a long time, but they finally grew up
Each...with individual diversions...Ha!
Five roads...five conclusions, (yet, but not)
“Children are a gift from God”, unwrapped at birth
Coercing us to change...not an option
I’ve become a doctor, judge, nutritionist,
speech therapist, teacher, and chauffeur...
All without license
In the final analysis of ‘raising’ children
Could it possibly be said...
I’ve finally grown up?...

I do not know?
Do I Stop Missing You
Over time I don't really, or ever, stop missing you,
or how you felt next to me.
Time and diversions only make it less intense,
until being close, hearing your voice,
that unique signature of sound,
that passes so effortlessly deep within,
making notes that find, and feel like they belong,
on my heartstrings.
Triggering the cycle yet again,
lying just below my consciousness,
waiting for activation,
powerful, part of my being, undeniable....
