Nowhere To Hide
There are truths
that follow deep into the grave…
The ones you disagreed with
—and the ones you ignored
(Dreamsleep: June, 2022)...

Mutual Exclusion
I said yes,
you disagreed…
no longer to be friends
P.C. culture,
zero-sum,
misleading to the end
(Rosemont Pennsylvania: September, 2020)...

Man From Le Mons
There once was a man from Le Mons
Who thought he had life in his palms
But his wife disagreed
And challenged his creed
So now he knows that he was wrong...

Oh, Christmas Tree
Nearly straight is straight enough, t'would seem!
They, every year 'til this one, disagreed.
Now a thin wire tendrils down,
Grabs the fir tree by the crown.
Dad won this time; he's hung it from a beam!...

Seeker of Right
The seekers of right... sought only those who agreed.
This meant others seekers wrong if they disagreed.
So the seekers of right...were in conflict always.
And this left the seeker of truth to be on his way....

I Am Now
Over heard 2 men on a bus
None without a hush
What would you do before you die
Take a bed sheet jump from the sky
Not for me
the other disagreed
Just hope to see the trees
But laziness my quest
inside my answer
peace
just once
while i take a rest...

Sat On Pallet With My Mallet
sat on a pallet
with big blow hit my wallet
met with a mallet
read all of the facts
body looked like battle ax
that never attracts
walked along with Luke
disagreed and did rebuke
a crazy old kook
would be atrocious
did eat things when ferocious
also delicious...

A Second Chance
I stopped in time to visit death,
in the shadows of shackled tomb.
And just upond this damned old Earth
The reaper came in two.
One said I was the lust of nature;
the second pilgrim disagreed.
I snuck away before my mourning song
And O dear Lord-
A second Chance... I'm free!...

Nothing Like the Fifties
Nothing Like The “Fifties”
Miracle Man
8/18/2023
There once was a time
political parties merely disagreed.
Now neither party chooses to be civil
until the other will accede.
So with red face they wrangle
awaiting another abate.
Today, it seems disagreement,
is synonymous with hate.

Revered Traditions
~ Back Then ~
One, a Cabinet Officer
the other, a Veep
disagreed about policy
their feelings ran deep
They'd end their discord
by means of a duel
Burr and Hamilton
brave pair of fools...
~ Now ~
Trump's 'Lock her up'
Dems' 'Kick Jim Jordan'
Both revere the tradition
Heap more fire on our fuels...

Happily, Unmarried
It started at a place called Joe,
An anonymous encounter that,
Who knew it would be many years,
It would be,
Before I would tarnish my halo.
We spawned a little girl,
A prodigy many would say,
Who gets more amazing,
Day-after-day.
Then our paths diverged,
On many issues, we disagreed
Now sadly I must say,
We are happily, unmarried....

The Buck Stopped Here
A dentist was having no luck
Because Freddie’s teeth were so buck.
Clearly braces he’d need;
Dad and mom disagreed.
Every argument left them all stuck.
Freddie’s dentist did not intervene,
Giving simple advice – “Keep them clean.”
He deserves some acclaim;
Ipso facto, the same
Jutting teeth sang the lyrics of Queen.

Broken Hearts
Love deceives
when it comes to family
It falters
just as Autumn wind hits trees
Leaves fall
just as tears begin to roll
down cheeks
Barriers appear we meet a wall
Words played
battle as we disagreed
Unfaultering
both stood firm decisions made
Battle grounds
Left, dark, dank, pools we cried
Half dead
we split. No longer passion found....

Tried
As much as I have tried to let you go, I just can't.
I consumed drugs & alcohol to give my soul an implant.
Don't worry I decided a long time ago, to just leave you be.
For I would not want to be forced, if my heart disagreed.
The hardest thing is not forgetting what my heart thought was true.
But being utterly consumed by someone I thought I knew....

My Dead Darling
I won't ever sit down
I won't go to sleep
I'll never give up
Though I'm far too weak
I'll share with you a smile
From the mouth's of the meak
I disagreed, you left in a huff
All of the flowers not so from joy
Rather sorrow and pain
There are no powers in the world in the world
To make me feel well
Except her love that'll save me
But henceforth never felt again...

Foot Steps
Life often demanded but we often disagreed;
We acquired damage that often times would bleed
Fishermen on boats and soldiers at post;
That was the place we may have loved the most
Senses screaming be quite don’t you hear
There was always something out there and always very near.
Crossed and double crossed but I guess now it’s done;
So here’s to the times when all of us once hung...

Never Ever Do They Fight
He is black; she is white
She, his queen; he, her knight
He's far left; she's far right
But never ever do they fight
Sure, at times they've disagreed
Yet both of them at once concede
Each wants only what is best
Cheers for the other
~ Aren't they blessed...
Now they've one last secret --
Purest truth I speak --
They've been married
One whole week...

Kaki
The vendor advertised his wares
Eliciting assorted stares.
For just six bucks (a price quite wacky),
You could buy some pants – in kaki!
English likely’s not his tongue
And yet, before that sign was hung,
You’d think he wouldn’t be confused
On how to spell the word he used.
My husband shrugged and disagreed;
That “kaki” sign was all he’d need
For none would understand it better
If it had that missing letter....

Mr Right Was Left
Mr. Right Was Left
To be right was his right
And everyone had to listen;
If, then, they disagreed,
Well, that was so much tension.
Mr. Right’s views were all his own,
Whether current events or not,
You have to feel so sorry for him,
Cause being “right” is all he’s got.
No friends stay around to console him,
When he hurts he’s alone in his gloom;
Those who would befriend him he insulted;
Compassion has left the room....

Mr Rattighan
I wanted to study and you were the only one who gave me a chance
You agreed at one glance,
without looking at my grades,
Other teachers said that I would fail
you disagreed
and said that I would sail
You have taught me all that I know
You taught me to fly
And the day you went I froze.
Just before you passed away I told you that you were the best teacher ever
you have changed my life forever
For my late teacher
1999...

Love Goes Around
LOVE GOES AROUND
Bobby Kane
Fancied Jane
Pity she
Disagreed
Her desire
Burning fire
Was for Pete
Down the Street
His fancy
Was Nancy
Hazel-eyed
He’d have died
For one kiss
From that miss
However
She never
Noticed him
Wanted Jim
He sadly
Fell madly
For a boy
But no joy
Intended mate
He was straight
And was still
After Jill
Not content
She was bent
On bedding
Then wedding
Bobby Kane
Start Again...

Okay the Things You Need
M-isty Wednesday is gone,
A-fter the long cold night;
R-ed beacon February second
I-s bringing Thursday delight.
E-arly morn has broken, the twilight passes by;
L-et the rain disappear, underneath the blue sky.
G-ray clouds don't gather,
A-s the shadows vanish;
L-et the chill evaporate,
L-et the haze diminish.
A-pprove the fine weather,
R-ugged wind is disagreed;
D-elightful event is allowed,
O-kay the things you need....

Black Page on a Candle less Night
I find myself
stumbling through his verse tonight.
Overall, he was a good man with a good heart
Bright as an angel wing at sunrise.
What puzzled me though was:
that if we disagreed on any sensitive topic
his velvety demeanor would quickly turn to burlap.
He wholeheartedly believed in diversity
except when it came to diversity of opinion.
Even those with big hearts and brilliant minds
can reveal their black page on a Candleless night.

Failed Disposition
Failed Disposition
Defining failure my disposition from you,
never seemingly doing your right thing to do.
Internalized lost character, anger held within,
left feeling I am the worst man amongst men.
Agonizing pains clarity as the truth is disagreed,
drops fall upon drops in red rivers my heart bleeds.
Terrorized mentality stamped into catatonics state,
running from fates destiny in between love and hate.

Twins Write Differently
Dee was skimpy with her adjectives once again.
Whereas her twin Sue Lee was generous with them.
Neither of them had books that sold in droves or well.
Which twin's words do I like better? That is hard to tell.
Your words are insufficient, incomplete, meager Sue Lee said.
Dee said Sue Lee’s overuse of adjectives hurt her writers head.
I need my adjectives – lithe, lively, dainty, delicate and polite.
The twins disagreed, but both continued to plot and write....
