Kaki
The vendor advertised his wares
Eliciting assorted stares.
For just six bucks (a price quite wacky),
You could buy some pants – in kaki!
English likely’s not his tongue
And yet, before that sign was hung,
You’d think he wouldn’t be confused
On how to spell the word he used.
My husband shrugged and disagreed;
That “kaki” sign was all he’d need
For none would understand it better
If it had that missing letter.
