An angel may light the righteous way. The tap may be narrow and up. It may be a rainy day. Dionysus chuckles. For his drunk fellows, He always finds Kinky tricks To make beer And wine Flow!

Yet know this of the gods, and know it well,
That we and mortals form a single spell.
Dionysus, Hades, these are but tags,
They ease the tongue as back and forth it wags.
True names do nature spring forth from:
Once call our names and gods must come!...

Greek Sonnet
Greek Sonnet

I write Dionysus poetry
With a dash of Apollo,
This because darksome poetry
Can kill hope
And become cynical – we don´t
Want to lose all hope.
Too much Apollo
On the other hand
And we lose sight of reality
Therefor the two gods
Compliments each other so
We don´t sink into despondency
And not into
Hysterical harp playing lyricism...

Late at night
Losing all sense of time
Caught in the web's
Ghostly glow
A glimpse of an ad
During a sip of ruby red
A muse was born
(Amusin' illusion)
To tempt the Melpomene in me.
Dionysus let slip the flights of fancy.
A flirtation began.
It was love at first sight
As I drank deep of the Pierian spring
But my love she doth often unrequite.
It passeth all understanding....

Dionysus and his mount
both racking up quite the count
In the cave and on the run
Immune, there was only one

On a dragon from the east
The panther could never feast
In his lair he would dwell
But the dragon could not smell

No matter how hard they try
The dragon would never die
Even with a magic fleece
He was not his fancy feast

That gentle roar,the mesmerising scent
Drew the bear's attention as it boldly went
Lumbering towards the darkened cave
Which few had ever dared to brave
For there there lurked a rainbow beast
Whose appetite had enjoyed many a feast
Painted from the palette of shimmering Iris
And proudly ridden by the mighty Dionysus
That entered not a whit into the grizzly's mind
Little realising it would be his last and fatal find...

Dionysus
i run thru ashes of pompeii
and i bring good news
it's great food
and my grapes will come to fruition
but i sleep close to the street
next to the mummies
nectar and jam
my news is the same
as it was from the last time
do you recall
as
when no one held regard to the mother
then the blast came
do not give the
neoanthropologists
a chance to excavate
your grinning skulls
as
the rich volcanic soil holds the DNA of
thousands of dreamers...

Charites
Gratiae - the three graces, mythology of Greeks.
Considered daughters of Zeus and Eurynome
and yet said of Dionysus and Aphrodite,
or Helios and Aegle. Human creativity and fertility.
Goddesses of charm, beauty and nature
Usually by three in numbers; - Aglaea - Beauty,

Euphrosyne - Mirth, Thalia - Good Cheer.
Part of the underworld - the Eleusinian Mysteries.
For centuries song, prayer and poetry -
has worshipped their celebrated mysteries....

THE COMING OF SPRING

Heralds of euphoria,
Your anxious trumpets make to
Wait no more
For
The Olympians to hear the
Festive news yearn:
Persephone is released
From
Pluto’s palaces, to
The upper world,
Where,
Demetra:
The mother earth, waiting is,
Her daughter to embrace,
In her mandle of green.

Come,
Oh you heralds and sound,
For all in waiting to
Hear!
Apollo is back,
Dionysus is gone,
Spring is here,
Mortals rejoice!

The Panther
The Panther Who Roams Greece

The panther who roams Greece
Was a mysterious legendary piece,
He was the favorite of Dionysus, the god,
Whom the people very much adored.
The panther who roams Greece
Would sleep after he feasts.
Then roars and emits a sweet smell,
That’s really a cunning spell.
The panther who roams Greece
Was the terror of them all,
He could eat any creature
No matter whatever their feature.
The panther who roams Greece
Was once a legend and he still is....
