God is always full of much feeling;
Many things He will be revealing;

I sit on my branch
eyes wide and bright
determining when

Originality
to define the soul
is beyond comprehension
determining the dimension
on a level you can't understand
why do we surround
ourselves with animosity
we contempt the equilibrium
in attempt to be individuals
the equivocation
of our nature
abstracts the communication
overrides the originality...

The Base
What I feel and what I think
While I’m standing on the brink
Of determining what is true
Must not solely influence what I do
But my morals, lest I have those
May just guide me, but who knows
I might end up acting wise
Or lay the base for my demise.

Premium Member THANKFUL FOR DESTINY
Today I’m thankful for the unpredictability of destiny…
You see, I’m not sure how much I partake…
in determining all my opportunities…
in all the choices that I make.

For instance:

Was it my choice to write this poem…
or has destiny decreed it?
and was it your choice
or was it Destiny…
when you sat down to read it?...

Most time is
unremarkable:

the conscious mind asleep
between stitches and scores
hoots and howls
sweet scents and fouls
hunger and bowels--

viruses needing cures,
shifting earth
and weather skewers
determining our garments
and directions…

even our intimate affections
a product of environment,
each a prison of sorts

Strange, yet God claims
not to lead us…...

Caseworker Determining Eligibility

		Cabrini-Green Projects
		Chicago

The child, age two, hammocked in the half
moon of his mother’s arms, is locked
in palsy, yet moves an eyelid as I ask,
moves the other as his mother answers,
application form interrogation.
The father was a white policeman.
“Curiosity,” the mother says. “No more.
I didn’t go with him for money.”

Footprints Written: by Tom Wright 3/8/2016 Like a colossal spool of twine unreeling, So are the tracks put down from birth. They show our bearing, not what we’re feeling, And are oft used in determining our worth; But only God knows what our heart’s hold, And if our trail was by Him so directed; Whether our tracks are fresh laid or cold, Our love for others from these is reflected

Human Folly
The gods looked down upon the plebes
and roared a loud thunderous laugh.
Those arrogant humans never
Learn. They spend precious time flirting
Audaciously with foolishness;
They set their eyes toward heaven
And expect to achieve greatness.
By whose precious standards do they
Trust determining their greatness?
Their own supreme egotism
Suffices as their bellwether
And so therein lies their weakness
A trait exclusively human....

Elephant
There’s an elephant in the room
He lets me know not to assume

He fast forwards, determining fate
He rewinds, finding the faulty gate

He can see me but I can’t see him
He can see the wick burning dim

I am an imposter of this person called me
I know he knows what isn’t honesty

This elephant has taken control
Hands on the reigns he has taken his toll

I lay restless upon this darkened hour
Stripped of my already lifeless power...

Flinging Poems Into Wind
We seine them up
like dust
in pollen-stained hands,
briefly weight them,
balancing them in minds,
determining worth,
profundity.

And like those before,
we toss them absently
into wind—
winnowing maple seeds—
whirling them from us—
as we shape lives,
change destinies.

Now,
they seem to flit
to nothingness,
like us—
pale night insects
pestering
opal moons,
infestations of night
thickly settling
on the liquid glass
of our tongues....

Premium Member The Errors of God
Writing is far from new –
pictures our first penmanship:
on cave-walls, in clay frames,
using colored sand – depictions,
mans' desire to inform; each of
us having his or her own view
of nature – dreams our deeper
landscape. But, nowadays,
we are politically declarative
pronouns – naming no-longer a
rational art; images no-longer a
universal language: All creation
deemed self-determining Its!
Humanity obsessed with correcting
the errors of God....

Immaculate invasion in a cryptic, tiptoe way
Emulating doves while landing - soft and understated
Gaze upon one bright star in the sky's celestial lay
Entranced, some shepherds see a host, hear glory's tale narrated
Deception? No, for prophecies were made in ancient day
Now child in lowly manger lies, this glad day long awaited

Premium Member Is-Ness of Being-Ness
Attention frozen in quanta of time
Fulcrum determining inner chime

No sooner we become an observer
Spontaneity is distorted by the doer

It is only in the continuum hypnotic
That we resonate with bliss eclectic

Thus ascension is the recalibration
Of our core in unbroken meditation

Imbibing impressions in continuance
In resonance with pristine innocence

Once attention is awake in stillness
We simply are is-ness of being-ness
