day is coming, death is bright.

Owl

Oh, you muse owl...oh, you muse owl...wise owl
Wander through the woods of my mind
Lovely as a coyote’s yowl in the dead of night

Midnight Angling

Throw away your lines and hooks,
For to catch a fish at the dead of night,
You don’t need those ‘how to books’
Just use a stick of gelignite.
Form: Rhyme

Bruised

In the dead of night
I hold a boxing match in my mind
and I can never be sure who the winner is
but some mornings
I wake up
black and blue

Listen to poem:
The bridge is covered, has no light
all who pass over are shaded
eclipsed by day, in dead of night
unseemly notice evaded
by keeping all's well, out of sight.

Premium Member tears in the dead of night

sounds of violin crying out in the dark
desperate for one solitary ray of moonlight
string along all lost souls who stray in the night

Premium Member Thought of the day

soul knocks at heart’s door in the dead of night
hoping we will dance in childlike delight
whether we do or not is up to us
the fortunate quickly board God’s bliss bus

Smorgasbord Phantasmagoria

Melting campfire delite is right
We'll vibe tales to heat our bones
Singing in the dead of night
Passionate lips caress
While igniting the power of mind
Reality all nonsense

The Compass

North has pointed south
And every way between
'Till arise the sun
Light remains unseen
But look! The stars above!
They will guide my way
Through the dead of night
'Till arise the day

Nothing Left To Give

So many stand unfit to bear the candle
where i would raise the torch
Gathered in their silent masses,
they watch the blaze adorn
my circle in the dead of night;
i've come to sound the horn

Paul Revere

In the dead of night rode Paul Revere.
For two lanterns told him the British were near.
His call to arms and the enemy fled.
The Redcoats retreated,as many lay dead.

Snow

I looked out the window and I saw the snow
the ground wasn't dark instead it did glow
and though there's no sun the world now seems bright
because there's snow on the floor in the dead of night

The Belarusian Play

The protesters put their symbol on the freezing water in the dead of night
for the authorities to try to get it out of the frozen pond at the break of day.
The smartness is playing with the stupidity.

A Terrible Dream

Awaken in a dead of night,
I dreamt of a child dying.
While setting on my bed,
My spirit started crying.
I went back to sleep,
Not feeling very good.
While dreaming all about,
A death within my hood.
Form: Rhyme

Second Chances

Lost in the dead of night,
Looking for the light.
Am I close to the shore?
Or am I so far away that I'm lost?
Hopefully my being it wont cost.
Come to me and guide me there,
Tell me that you still care.

When appears the winged goddess Nix
to cast her noctilucent spell
on every creature of the night,
in a sudden hush, fall on the land
a sweet shield of calm and timelessness.

''sacred Bond''

Complex mind, troubled soul, father I was here.To still in the dead of night. All you needed
was to make it right.Right with me?Now you are free.Father I was here.Take my past, you are
home at last.Father I was here.

Just Like That (Part 2)

A whisper in the dead of night softly caresses my ear.
An arm gently wraps about my waist and takes away my fear.
A kiss firmly planted on my hand remembers our passion.
A tear calls mournfully to bring you home again.

When I'M Crying Who Will Hold Me

When I'm crying who will hold me,
now you and I are done?
In the dead of night when I can't sleep,
who will I think of?
When I'm missing your laugh,
your smile,
and your touch?
Where will I go when this world gets rough?

Premium Member Discarded

In the dead of night she lays

Still , alone

Once so full of life

Now lifeless so far from home

No-one knows she lays there

Discarded like refuse

Is this to be her final resting place

Left naked and abused

Sleep Walkers

Ghouls
Zombies
Dead of night
Creatures undead
Whoever started this must be insane.
Is it likely these creatures entertain?
Living instead
Spreading fright
Or ease
Fools

Winter's Horror Show

With spooked nerves' dead of night woe
This horror show
Morns and fogged, quaking on through.
Eves and fogged, back.

A bony figure's stiffness
And lifelessness
Treed, which its leading part plays.
Treed, with star's knack.
