Agony of Defeat

With washed away hopes
Drenched in defeat, ego cries
Impaled by the cold
Starts tumbling through the abyss,
Gasping for comforting thoughts

Premium Member The Skies Rain Flack

Sun's a mean blue
    two clouds turn black
  The wind blows sand
    the skies rain flack

  Early Spring, war-torn Ukraine
    reflects a nation's searing pain

I Love You

It hurts to
But I have to,
I feel it rising,
Like vomit or bile
The feeling of tiny knives,
Forcing it out slowly.
I sit across from you,
trying,
To hold it back.

Where Silence Drowned

The waves reached out like memories trying to return,
The sky, heavy with unsaid words,
And somewhere between the sea and the storm,
I left a part of me in those waters,
still waiting to be found.

Pseudo-Smile

Nights unveil the darkness
Of dreary, dismal days
Thoughts plummet deeply
And diverge in disarray
Anxieties surmount
Ability to cope is seized
Sad face, a pseudo-smile
Hope barely within reach

Things Tend To Have a Deeper Meaning

Things tend to have a deeper meaning
But, we see selectively
The direction is there
It is not used completely
We are often confused
As a result of the ambiguity
Pain and darkness walk in
Nothing but a clouded scenery

Moving Slow

Moving slow and drinking fast,
I have no idea how long this dark will last,
Tears held deep inside,
Never meant to be cried.

Drink can't stop the rain,
Or soothe deep dark pain,
Happiness that was once mine,
Lost forever in time.

Those Walls Will Close

Those walls will close
As opportunity passes you by
Darkness is all you will see
There sadly is no brightness in the sky
You have wasted your life
Everything has come apart
Not a great situation
You may not be able to get a new start

Darkness Will Surround You

Darkness will surround you
If you are not careful with your path
Get it together
And take your life back
The streets are no place to live
For they are filled with confusion
You will be in a state of uncertainty
There is nothing but frustration

Duplex

Paper Skin I touched my skin and winced in pain. Stinging Throbbing Bruising Aching You tore my soul to shreds again. Slashing Ripping Splitting Clawing Scratching A wild creature would do far less damage. 7.12.2016

Premium Member Depression

Depression is my only song
Transgression with poetic verse
Nonaggression where it may belong
Suppression of feelings of self worth

Days I have spent locked in my mind
Ways to escape these feelings I do not crave
Praise my ways to have my shadows defined
Raise me from the confines of the depraved

The Heart of a Poet

The crushing night left me with little remorse
We approach down;
The hauling wind doesn't take so much from
The beast that ripped ma clothes off,
Hearts be passing,
we see through a chest - cracked open
The trumpet of ma heart beat
Doesn't forget to remind me to dance to this sad melody
Yes you KNOW, you have seen..

We’ve met before, you know my name.
Though in that hour of dark pain a light shone from within.
I recognise you and your smile. You just don’t seem to change and it’s been a while.

We’ve met before, remember me?
You stood and watched me get to my feet.
Then you turned away and said ‘next time’
And now you’re here I guess I’m the next in line.

We wait

We wait, and we think, and we suffer for the thought that we wait for the unknown truth. We wait to hear the answer to a question, holding hope for something good to come. All the while, we’re left with the swirling thoughts in our head. And every day that goes by, that hope dims; the wait becomes longer and longer, all for an answer that may never come.

Sound and Uncrossed Dreams

A sigh--
as strong as the
rivers' flow,
where dark pain
forces the flower.

Oh! To sleep through sound
and uncrossed
dreams.

My mind groans
for the woman
just beneath
the great horn.

The years drop off sharply
into the river,
just beneath the bridge--

to flow back to the sea.

To evaporate and come at us from a different angle...

Next time?

Dead Tree

I was sitting under the Sigillaria Tree.
For I have been set free,
So I scream with glee!
While the stitching made me bleed.
I am forced to concede.

Forced my arms to my chest,
And I hold me close with no rest,
For I am trapped in this stitched arm unrest,
I am the court jester.
Such words hear me prester!

I have only one question so please foresee,
What will happen to me?

Afraid I'm!

I'm new to the scars
They look so harsh
And now I wonder
about the upcoming thunder
Afraid I'm?
Afraid to surrender!

I'm new to the burns
My serenity, looks like they yearns
And now I wonder
about the upcoming blunder
Afraid I'm?
Afraid to surrender!

I'm new to the pocks
They entered without any knocks
And now I wonder
what could be another?
Afraid I'm?
Afraid to surrender!

Claws

It feels like I've been running for hours.
Running from my past.
Running from 'it'.
That name.
When it crawls into my ears, a shiver runs up my spine.

I claw desperately at my skin, begging for some sort of solace.
All that's left is blood
smeared across my legs.
My scabs itch with the longing to peel them off again.
And again.
And again.

Again and again.
But I'll never be satisfied.

Sleeping Kills

I fight but I fail,
I’m tortured from within.
I bite at my nails,
and slash through my skin.

I have to bleed,
and watch as it drains.
The evil seed,
Growing through my veins.

It won’t cease,
Till it chokes my heart.
I’m a masterpiece,
Of the devils art.

I am a slave,
chained to my plight.
I lay in my grave,
and die every night.

I keep bending,
waiting to break.
I keep pretending,
It’s gone when I awake.

Untitled

As the end comes to all
It couldn't be anyone but you lying next to me
And while the world caves in, so to does my chest
Our palms drenched in sweat, hastily locked together;
Our shaky hands
The panic is coming on strong now;
I can see it in your eyes
Glistening like stained glass
I see the waves begin to crash down
Until the end, I'll lay over you
Until the waves cause my back to crumble
And I fall apart
As I always do

When one of inspiration is shorn
And every poetic thought stillborn
When every glimmer of light disappears
And every proud conceit ends in tears

Should I to my unheeding Muses turn
And offer holocausts for them to spurn?
Would Melpomene listen,Thalia heed
And grant help in my hour of need?

Why do they cast me so cruelly aside
In my own grim Hades to abide?
Prayers do I offer for this barren time
Wherein the empty page is branded crime.

I Don'T Mind

I don't mind being weak.
I don't mind the pain.
I don't need help.
Waiting for death to take me.
What's the point?
I'm tired.
I'm sick.
I want to rest.
I can't fight anymore.
Just take the pain.
Reject me and hate me.
I don't mind the hurt.
I don't mind the tears.
I'm holding onto this pain,
For the rest of my life.
This is my fate.
This is my pain.
I will live or die.
I don't look for options.
Whatever the choice,
I don't mind...

Dawn To Dust

Shining bright and soaring high peace and love within my eyes,
But one day u took it all away you shattered my heart and left without a say.
How could u hurt me u said u where there, you said u loved me, you said you cared!
I trusted u with all my soul but i guess i'm a fool for believing you.
Now in the dark pain & hate i my eyes,
Somedays i wish i could just die because theres nothing left of my once joyful life,
No reason to go on, no reason to fight

Attention Grabber

HELLO
Am I too screwed for your taste?
Too twisted for your views
I see over a hundred of you
With blank stares and nothing to say
Is it because I question God?
Is it because I am what you are not? What you will never be?
Someone with a face and a personality
Hey, beautiful people!
Cant you see me?
Are you even awake?
No I suppose not, because to be awake is to be real
And to be real is a dark pain
Which most of us do not know how to handle..

Pitter patter, pitter patter
Telling me that I don’t matter
That the storm clouds will not scatter
Telling me my heart will shatter
Pitter patter, pitter patter

Splish splash, splish splash
Telling me our dreams will clash
That on rocks my love will dash
Telling me my heart he’ll gash
Splish splash, splish splash

Drip drop, drip drop
Telling me my love he’ll swap
That my heart strings he will crop
Telling me my life will stop
Drip drop, drip drop
