Here's a field that glows as gold
upwards to a sky of cloud,
like a tablecloth unrolled
for feasting bees buzzing loud.
DISPERSION OF SNOW
one breath takes flight

Grass is brown while weeds are green
Dandelions flourish here
Will we know when time to mow
Not where brown grass grows
“The sun is a lion roaring, shaking his mane of golden light.” - by poet
Dandelions roar:
Yellow lions in the grass
Mimicking the sun.
fair dandelions
vision swaddle in rain drops
comely butterflies

Poetry Contest: Spring Haiku traditional form
Tania Kitchin
Your child has 10 fingers and toes
Unfortunately
the are growing out of its face
Bonus really good at waving
and impersonating dandelions
we were withering seedlings perched in unfavorable soil
until we escaped the comfort zone
and scattered beyond
now the wind calls us dandelions
swarming honeybees
dandelions and sweet lilies
mating birds, cool breeze

The best wigs are on dandelions.
Zig-zag leaves can make a crown.
The lion is the yellow flower,
and it will leave behind...
a pom-pom for a clown.
green fingers plucked you
to become prima donnas
of the dumping site
on a sandy grave
poverty's roses are placed
by sorrowful hearts
Lots of buttercups
Spread onto my lawn
Look so much better
Than dandelions
The colour brightens
All the grass
Making it better
With the colour spread.
Dandelions, butter, roses.
Sight of circus bright clown noses.
Plane where tawny lion dozes.
Shades displaying,
sunny days with sprinkling hoses.
Children playing.

Within the dandelions I remain unconsigned.
It is my duty to remain diligent.
I am my own requiem.
Bring me delight or bring me no light.
I seek the dragons I know.
November sidewalks unsightly grow
Leaves mingling, sloppy with slush and snow
Where dandelions bloomed between cement cracks
Now pray bugs that warmth come back
O' YELLOW FLOWER WEED
dandelions sprouts
scattering growing right up
many a weeds spall

Dandelions temporarily match leaves' yellow hues,
As spring meets autumn's remaining old transitional cues,
While the sun shines in a sky painted by many shades of true blues.
our yard is creeping with dandelions
clover and wild thistle growing too
soon it will be camouflage for full grown lions
black pumas, spotted leopards and king of the lions too
Look outside, branches are bare
Another few weeks and buds will appear
That time of the year
When a new world appears
When niceness is the rule and noses clear
Daring dandelions,
dance in the summer breeze.
Disgusted gardeners
do everything to
destroy the puff balls, while
dear children make a wish,
displaying innocence.

I used HMS to check syllable count
violets sleeping
hibernate under brown leaves
awaken in spring
waiting for April
beneath layers of ice and snow
dandelions, too

one day
i'm not
going to
take my meds
for weeks instead
i'm going
to buy a
baseball
bat and
one day
when it's
windy i'll
whack off
the heads
of dandelions
floating with the seeds
