Discipline
A wheel's spoke, tightened
Of what, with guidance
Wheel-turned in motion
Loses no traction.

Lax for this , its ride
Crumples underneath.
Lax for that, its goad
Dark travelled its road...

Premium Member The Paper
She writes some words 'pon the paper
Examines them
Then she writes one more word
Tears run down her cheeks
She crumples the paper
Letting it drop to the floor
With it the pen falls, ink spilling mixed with tears
Staining the paper upon the floor ...

Oragami
A smile becomes too hard too hold
When waterlogged and under pressure
So my face crumples in
And folds up into new patterns
I've never never let you see before
Transparent as rice paper, delicate;
Not so graceful as a paper crane
Near as fleeting as a paper boat
Vanishing downstream...

Decimated Ocean
Waves crash
Your wrapper crumples
Thrown into the crazy waters
Killing the creatures in the coral
Little by little
Commonly found everywhere
Floating
Caution in the water
With chemicals creeping
Coastline to coastline
Laced with pollution
Fish collide with waste
Communities and ecosystems
Decimated...

Listen to poem:
Let the kinks and oddities remain esoteric
to herald that special uniqueness
that makes you, just you, as you are.
Resist the shapers and conformity grinders
that would smooth out the crumples,
iron out the creases and wrinkles.
Your texture becomes you when gripped,
Your spikes and bumps adorn, when worn displayed...

Disassociate
Distorted gnashing puppet teeth
Not my face not my face
My limbs are tied by spider webs and I am floating
Why are they staring
They are not staring
But why are they staring
What do I look like?
Why do I look like that?
Papier-mâché heart crumples and the face melts under the pressure of streams from the eyes
Whose tears are these?
Hopeless...

Premium Member Pain
Wet as rain
Touch grips pain
Once again

Time feels slow
As hurt grows
Hollow show

That and this
Hit and miss
Crumples ease

In a daze
A harsh maze
Anxious face

Loss flings art
Pain now starts
Heavy heart

Odd this poise
Flings hurt voice
Abducts choice

Not in vain
Bear with pain
Yet again

Adolf In Touch
Sometimes, though not often anymore
Hitler taps my shoulder
Be serious you laugh, this could not be
But you are you and I am me
Quietly reading, hidden in a book
As I so often was in midst of Blitz
A fast running front, a storm
A roll of thunder crumples in the distance
Grows louder near
Flashes and crashes here
Rumbling recedes
The storm passes
And my subconscious
Listens for sirens
Sounding All Clear...

True Enough
Vision.Vision.
Age crumples the comfort zone.
Letters get blurry.Harder to manage.
Eyes do stop at the previous line.
Last year it did not fail me there.

Nights.Dreams.
Some dreams are only born to be lost
To be lost into oblivion. Forgotten in daytime realities.
Only leaving a trace of belongingness.Once true. Once alive.

Truth of life is a moonlit musing
Adjusted.Cordial.
Eloquent - to be
True enough....

A Near Midnight Stroll
A Near Midnight Stroll

A nightly walk
In the shine of the moon
Time starts to stalk
When midnight is now soon
Hands of the clock stop
Vision becomes hazier
A shadow is seen on top
Of the lamplights that look fuzzier
The shadow leaves its spot
To get a better look at your shock
You then hear a bang with a shot
That gets your body on lock
Crumples downward in duress
And what is left is now a mess

Life Sucks
Life sucks.
Plucks you from your mother's belly
Weans, silks your skin,
Fondly toys with you
and grows you.

Life sucks.
Slyly beguiles you
To mate, create,
Spit out your genes.
In moments of sin or folly.

Life sucks.
Soon, too soon, it pounces.
And plays a while,
Scratches out your eyes,
Crumples your bones.

Life Sucks.
Finally tiring of you
Life licks out your soul
With greedy slurps,
Smacks its lips, then burps!...

The White Rose
I savor the fragrance of the white
Rose
The beauty exquisite, bold yet,
Daring, gentle
It stands silent amongst all other
Roses
It glistens in the evening of the
Setting sun
His face is steady wide and true
As it kisses the gentle rain
Covering each petal with a kiss
Silently it close its wanton eyes
As each petal falls one by one
Dark brown it crumples and
Lay beneath the garden floor
Soon to find its way to a new
Beginning......

Frame furious fire
Seed sensuous sire

Gift growing gain
Peace pickles plain

Lift laughter loose
Nurture nice noose

Clever charm comes
Sweet sensuous sums

Greet grumpy gloom
Rest resolves room

Prize pickled plots
Seize succinct slots

Feelings freeze-framed
Note naughty name

Urge umpteen use
Feel flaming fuse

Choice crumples cheer
Sift swallows seer

Premium Member Begins Again and Again and Again
She struggles to get out words
That never say enough
Not as clear as she hoped
Never conveying
What she wanted to say

Feelings on paper
She stares
Disappointed
Discouraged
Angry at herself

They are bland,
Stale, overused.
Under baked or overcooked.

She crumples up a page
Begins again
Throwing this clump
Onto the sea of clumps
Around her desk chair

Begins again.
And again.
And again.

Maybe it’s not her day to write....

Premium Member Flowering Beauty Grows Amongst Thorns
Rose petals blossoming out from the heart softly silk
starbursts brightly sitting a regal flower kissed

By loving sunshine sweet glowing beauty dances
your delicate curling petals so beautiful

Like a butterfly's wings fluttering eyelids mist
engaged upon a glance sweet fragrance whispered dew

Embalmed by the perfume of such treasure found gift
it is here that an arrow of gold strikes home dear
sweet velvet corolla crumples fragile breathless...

A Friend's Mother
Another friend has lost her mother
painful cancer and then broken hip
to hasten the end
tears
stand in her eyes
looking for mother
eyes I have known as a child
so I wipe her eyes
with my fingers
as mother is gone
and she crumples against me
giving in to grief
to being an orphan
to the awful alone-ness that envelopes you
when both your parents are dead
dead and gone
I hold her there and let her cry
through that mighty fear
we cry together
lost as children
just
children...

Khashoggi and All the World's Freedom Fighters
When
A King’s Bullet
Explodes
And rips your flesh
And you,
A reporter
A protester
A man
A woman
Or a child
Crumples
To the street,

Do not despair.

It is where
You fell,
There
On that spot,
That
Tomorrow,

Two more will stand
And after that,
Three
And then
The nation’s flag
Shall be planted
And
One day,

It shall
Be you
Who stands again,

Though as a statue,

Marking the time
And place

Where
The bullet
You took,

Was the one
That killed
The King....
