Merlin the Magic Cat

Oh, he is a most wonderful cat
Who somehow grew covertly fat
Surprised by the mew
As no litter was due
And HE once again not so fat

Whirlwind Spirit

Once ravaged, souls salvaged
haunt savaged:
nostalgic for magic
in tragic
dreams psychotic, script agnostic
by despotic
lies chivalrous (shed fibrous
force frivolous)
to begin, my chagrin.
Our coffin
tailspin
plans covertly
to pervert
or convert.

Night

The stars are striving to keep the moon afloat,
The sound of silent darkness playing its game.
The owls and bats are out on a hunting spree,
the world covertly rendered light free.
A flickering lantern striving to be the sun,
Baffled how night has turned it into one!

To Dispel Loneliness

unwanted, he covertly creeps into my thoughts
lest, to his disdain, unwitting smiles might escape
hope’s thief demands his own satisfaction
abandons me to wither in vain love’s desert
mock him I do when rising spirit permits happiness
control’s power victoriously beats within

Pretence

Prudence rode her neon lime green bike down to the corner
Right up to the library
Entrance, she wore her bleach blond hair spiky short
Talking too loudly and popping her Bazooka Joe
Every time the librarian glared at her
Next to the magazine rack she
Covertly studied the science section hoping no one noticed her focused

Creeping

The shadows were creeping like golden summer,
Upon arising covertly, from crimson dawn mists,
And they shrank at noon to a realm just under,
Then idly resumed, their daring sunshine risks,
'Til plum twilight, and a kingdom they'd missed!

Befallen Slave

Befallen slave,
la ractera,
the child of night,
corrupt.

Upon whip's handle,
laceration,
feeds the shelves,
the cradle starved.

Cyphera encountus,
abacus is nay appalled
...with corpse's heart;
lest the starving wallet beat.

St. Valentine's anniversary
covertly taints it's favorite treat.

Fragmented Existence

Impel discourse upon one and another,
the unseen veracity of ennui and weariness causes me to covertly smother. Appreciation and fascination moderately transpire,
humanity led solicitous to retire.
A bond have infrequently on any account been achieved,
unassertive alongside what intend to be believed.
Loneliness forge such enchantment
conflicted with despondency.

To Be Seen of Others

To Be Seen of Others Written: by Tom Wright January 2015 If we’re only doing things For a pat on the back, Then likely, that becomes, Our earthly reward; While being seen by others Might garner us a plaque, Matters done in secret, In Paradise, are stored. Some of life’s preeminent moments Have been the outcome of things done covertly Tom

The Universe

Plethora of life
In every shape and form
A vibrancy interconnected
Orchestrated covertly
Mystifying and mysterious
Wondrously grandiose
The enigmatic cosmos

Stratus Spheres

When stratus is strung
 with artist's lattice
 and letters are spun
 as cotton cumulus

I bend in awe of
 resounding matter
 expressing substance
 beyond human dressings

Stilled in silvered
 lines of sanity
 hanging covertly
 for all to survey

Wisdom proclaimed
 displayed openly
 for viewing;
 pursuing

 should perception's
 glance be longer
 than a split second

Imagine what
 awaits
 a discerning eye

 if only?

The Talk of the Meadow

They were the talk of the meadow, these bunnies, these two.
They were so in love, others could not remain sad or blue.
We watched them frolic and hop with so much joyfulness.
We spied on them covertly, most did not make a fuss.

They are cuteness personified, said the garden gnome.
We should write them up in a song, melody or poem.
As you can see I totally agreed with this idea he had.
I have written it up, and I feel grateful and glad.

Being Neutral

Sometimes you can neglect your neutral play
When you are in a traumatised  community
While many people appreciate your work secretly
And continue learning from you covertly.

Neutrality is opposite of rivalry
But it can turn to be casualty
When the role seems perplexity
In the eyes of few people who identify
That neutrality is voluntary charity without faulty
But they standing to complicate things calculatingly.

Covertly

If,
I was not afraid of,
the thing, but the signature
strike of a copycat
in the art of dismantling.

You,
try to pull down brick
by brick, the
jeopardy. A dead premises
becoming alive.

How,
will you,numb with pain,
explain the poetry of victim’s trail,
becoming a Buddha ?
Can you find a bo tree for me ?

The,
grape hyacinth, I still
carry your globular blue
eyes, chasing my
kisses. Why in the evening ?

Moments In Time

leisurely
peoplewatching
at a bus stop
covertly stealth
casually intruding
penetrating
their bubbles
crossing boundaries

the daydreamer
the tired mother
the grumpy old man
the sleepy student
making assumptions
filling in the blanks

serendipitous
moments in time
taken randomly
out of context
