Unobscured Fortune

To know riches

one must know nothing

After nothing is attained

conform to nothing

And at will you will be freed

to live generously

Without external reliance

on the skeptic’s form of life

Skin

You are sitting on raw skin
Too thin to pad
Your polyester lining
And conform to your
Thick lines of droop
Sad form
Slow age crept up
Like decades of neglect
And wound their way
To your tired set
Of withering reproach

Premium Member Undergrowth with Two Figures - Van Gogh

Nature distorts humans
to conform to its pattern, in shape and form.
Stretching, bending, squeezing
the human form to somehow fit in,
as an odd Chameleon,
hiding out of place
distorted and misshapen,
bashfully conforming in camouflage.

My Song

Tell

 me not

 how to think

 Above all else

 don't attempt to make

 me conform to the 'norm'

I won't perform in your form

 For individuality

is my strength and customary song

Freedom suits me fine. It's where I belong.

This Scottish guy never cares for the norm It doesn't bother his ass, no matter the form There's too much of this And there's too much of that Please write to the form, or suffer the storm May I add this doesn't conform to the Syllable count.

Wake Up and Live Your Life

Having life and not living it is a sin to our soul.
Don't conform to the masses with popular ring tones.
Sit in silence to find your way.
For trials and tribulations are part of the game.
This journey called life is one we play.
If you sleep too long words stay words and being enlightened becomes grey.

The Individual

Rational and steadfast,
not dismal and bleak.

Put darkness in contrast,
show how all else is weak.

Others hide in the shadows,
of useless lives.

They conform to the masses,
a billion bee hives.

And those with the light,
put down through the years.

are those who shine through,
wipe away all our tears.

The Pen - Chapter 68, Verses 1-7, Holy Koran

Noooon! Swear upon the pen and things that are written
By the grace of your Lord you are not insane
And surely you shall have endless reward
And certainly you conform to magnificent morality
So you shall see and they too shall see
Which of you is mad
Surely your Lord knows best
Who is on the right track and who is on the wrong track

Cookie Cutters

Why do we long to conform to a defined ideal?
And why is that ideal so stagnant and predictable?
The patchwork quilt holds many more stories than the plain sheet
And yet a celebrity will die trying to maintain an image
How do we truly treasure the creative, entertaining snags that only visit on rare occasions?
Let’s bend the cookie cutters a bit.

Time

ÌTime is temporal
Seasons are permanent
Summer connives with autumn to make nature fall
But one thing is certain: when winter comes,
nature springs
And the cycle continues
But the times in two seasons are no same.
Times repeat seasons
Seasons conform to different times
Expect and respect seasons, but pay attention to time
For it is the transient one.

Who Am I

Dust off the stars and drain spirals from
the goddesses. Conform to the bond of my
ancestral alliances. Paint the slopes of my
creative peaks and wash in color
indefinitely. Fly high from conscious and
into the sublime. Map the dreamscape
that it lies behind. Look out towards self
and see me in all creatures. Careful to find
those who am I seekers.

Read Between the Lines

You’re reading through the book
But if you read between the lines
You’d know how I’d work.

Beaten, pushed and shoved to the ground, and yet still I stand,
But now I’m considering why I should conform to your twisted lies.
Bent into shape, but still not holding a place,
Falling behind, slipping through the cracks.

Nobody knows why, but if you read between the lines, you’d understand why.

Normal

Normal
Author Dana Redricks
January 4, 2017

Sometimes I find myself
Wishing to be normal but
Then I ask myself what is
Normal this normal is
Something I have never known
Is it being like everyone else
Trying to fit in a mold
Trying to conform to society
Then I stop and think how boring
My life would be
Trying to like everybody
I think I will just settle with being me
I may seem crazy but I’m free

Premium Member Walls 2

In my nightmares.

I see you sitting there.

Sitting alone at rivers edge.

I'm almost positive that you're dead.

Because you don't move inside my head.

Roses forming where thorns once fell.

He who desires but does not receive.

Conform to keep you inside prison walls.

Reality seeks fantasy in motionless stalls.

As prisoners keep their concubines tied up in knots.

Time

We all are under its control. We have no way around the thing
we call time. There is nothing that can escape the "cage" that is time. We all
must have a time keeper. We all must know and we all must revolve our lives
around it. Nothing not even God has the ability to travel through time. That is what
shows that we all must conform to the way time has set its course. We all need
to live the way time is allowing us to.

Freedom

Should we conform to the
norms of our society and limit
ourselves from a greatness?
Or should we let our hearts feel
and be wild and breath the
infinite freedom that god
desires?
Those that stop and live in
shallow comfort will surely fall
into the trap of iron cage.
Only those that are courageous
will find their true destiny and
free themselves from the
prison.
That is the question!!!

The Prison of Love

I open the cage…
And she flew
She soars up high
The words I hear her say
Is “I am free at last.”

I never knew that my love would be a prison
Till I loved her
Possessed her
Was obsessed with her

She said she loved me
But only to conform to her captures wishes
She never loved me back
But satisfied her desires

And now…
She said there was no future called “us”
She just wanted to fly
To be free

So…
I open the cage

I Am a Poetry Rebel

I have never followed the rules
I am a poetry rebel
It must be this and it can’t be that
One syllable or two

Who cares how many syllables you use
Poetry is not excellence
Poetry are words from the heart not rules
Man has taken poetry and have changed it

To conform to their rules
A muse does not follow rules
My Muse is a rebel too
These rules confuse me and my muse

Shakespeare never would have won a contest with today's rules

People

People

People who are gay
Are fun in their own way
People who are lesbian
Can be a wonderful thespian
People who are bi
Are ones able to soar and fly
People who are transgender
Are ones who can be love contender
People who are non-binary
Are special and don’t conform to the binary
People who are pan
Are great and those who can
But these people are not liked
So they’re discriminated and reputation piked

I may have been a hypocrite,
But at least when it came
To my closest friends I gave a .

I may be fat,
But at least physically
I’m way tougher than that!

I may have been insecure,
But at least within
I can always reassure myself alone.

I may not be that great a scholarly writer,
But at least I choose
To never conform to standards, I’m a fighter!

I may have been always lonely,
But at least I have
Gained a sense of inner identity!

This World

You're so caught up in this world
Listening to the lies
Saying, "you need more
Go buy more stuff."
But when it's all said and done
When you've listened to the lies
Are you really any happier?
Are you finally content?
You are caught in the web of lies
Spun by the Devil
And you are losing
Everything you ever believed in
Everything you ever stood for
Come back to the Light!
Return to the way you know
Don't conform to the ways of this world.

I'm easy to push around,
But it's never easy
To break me down.
I'm one who tends to cry,
But I will never
Let myself die.
I can be so naïve,
But at least
I try to perceive.
I can be a little vulnerable,
But at most I am able
To stand right back up.
I'm easy to put down,
But it's never easy to
Burn my spirit out.
I'm one who rebels:
I won't conform to spells.
I can seem weak,
But when I fall down
I always get back up
From the ground.
