Rhymed Review On Lolita By Vladimir Nabokov
In truth Clare Quilty
Was clearly guilty,
While humble Humbert Humbert
Was fervently pervert.
The issue to talk of
What told us Nabokov ?...

once
   on Good Friday
they looked
       upon love,
at first
          silence
a silence
        so black
        so dense,
then the sound..
a gentle
          wind-
after ..
  comes the dawn

They
cut up
the common,
enclosed the heath
and
made
the land
all their own-
putting to the
plough-
once
freemen,
then wage slaves-
as a pauper
lie.

As I sat outside to write
            I heard a conversation
            " Because of the virus
" I'm walking in the house
I rest and read a book
Then I go for a walk outside
At noon I take a stroll
I do this all day long
             Enjoy your day Clare"...

to love, the vanities of life and
pleasures of fancy.Impromptu

I am a writer
I decided the day after
I got my hair
cut.

So that's what I do now
Eschew and eschew. Wow,
Can somebody tell me how
to stay right here in the now

and not be distracted
by bills and high taxes
and grandmother needing her hair done
while grandpa plays golf?

It can piss me off.

But I've familiarity with hardship and strife
methinks where I wanna be I'll need a wife!

Dedicated to Mary Clare...

Max the chimp was in awe of his find.
A termite meal that boggled his mind.
Thousands trapped in the hill
He took care not to spill
And did not leave one termite behind.

This time there were extra to share
With his girlfriend whose name was Clare.
Thousands trapped in the hill
They took care not to spill
And did not leave one termite behind....

Halcyon Days
Do you remember way back, yester-year, and far off times when life had just begun? Of languid days, so free and debonair, all by the pool with friends and having fun? Those happy thoughts of Sue and Kate and Clare, their tummies tanned and torsos basking in the sun? And me? Do I recall this bright and carefree dawn? Oh no. You see, I wasn’t even born! ~ For nette onclaud's 'MOMENT IN ANOTHER TIME' Contest by Charles Clive.
