"Sweet sleeping child: so near, so far"
Little face-feathers:
eyelashes fall on your cheeks,
fringing sleepy eyes.
STARING CONTEST
challenge of silence
one turns blue with guffaw cheeks
eye contact shatters

senryu form
touched with blush of rose
her unopened bud brushed cheeks -
a buck's eyes linger

So cute
I grit my teeth
to stop the urge to squeeze
and pinch those lovely cheeks so cute,
I shake.
she sits on his bed
the autographed baseball
white on the dresser
tears find wrinkled cheeks
and fall to the folded flag
rose is a colour we call flower
rosy cheeks thorny stem horny beak
rose is a rose red or yellow
rose or white life is good

Jean-Honore Fragonard
with paint was quite a card
Cheeks & bosoms all had a place
in sidelong glances in passionate embrance
Infant's rosy cheeks
Pink is color of pure love
Mama's curvy lips
Baby girls come dressed in it
The sweet innocence of pink
Cheeks: apple skin shined
Hair: flaxen golden threaded
Lips: petulant pout
Eyes: dark sea currents whetted
Date: Circa 1903.
Granny decided this week
To no longer wear false teeth
So she eats soft food
Like beans and stew
Much less meat in her cheeks
I needed a scotch,
the night was cold and black.
The wind ripped my cheeks
and pushed me into a ditch,
crying for the home I lost.
Wiping my butt with sandpaper
shredding the skin off my cheeks
inhaling my own fecal vapor
i bleed from my butt crack for weeks
Don Ho was always in trouble
For blowing a tiny bubble
When Ida was born
His cheeks went unshorn
The egg on his face was stubble
pearl on the seafloor
her kisses....
on my cheeks
winters osculate
a common intense tongue hides
inside mountains cheeks

Clawed wings, blue cheeks,
Rufous crest, maroon eyes
Gawky gait, baffling diet, odd

wet cheeks not spring rain….

Sing loud,
I said
To the
Edge of clouds
Red cheeks
That blush
Captures this crowd
Run free, as the wind,
To the edge of clouds
early morning frost—
a squirrel empties fat cheeks
inside the old log
a flutter of wings
at Sol’s dawning—
damp bare branches
A blush colors the sky's cheeks;
Oh my! that flirtatious Sun!
Steamy whispers in the ear
a smile left behind.

Whiskey’s my favorite drink.
It makes my cheeks turn pink.
Can’t have just one,
What’d be the fun.
So I drink til I get to the brink.
