Notes About The Poem

Gigil is a Filipina word, with no English eqivalent, that refers to the trembling or gritting of the teeth, that occurs when a Filipina sees a cute baby, and needs to control the almost irresistible urge to squeeze or touch those cute cheeks. Gigil is derived from the Tagalog language.

Gigil - So Cute, I Quiver

So cute I grit my teeth to stop the urge to squeeze and pinch those lovely cheeks so cute, I shake.
