glowing, hypnotizing
checkers and hippie style
worn in my ear but used for

What was Picasso’s first word?
Ba?
Baba?
Da?
Flower?
Bird?
It was lapiz
Lapiz is pencil in Spanish
I read this printed in a book of facts.
How did the fact-checkers verify this? Hmmmmm
Curious isn’t it?...

Checkers
Sometimes I play checkers with a grizzly bear
He always wins I don't care
Red or black I let him choose
And I always make sure that I lose
Once I decided to win a game
He got angry and went insane
Snatched up his board and went home
Left me bleeding and all alone...

Premium Member Racist Checkers
Racist checkers-ego fueled.
Back and forth they go.
Jump me once I'll jump you twice.
Careening toward the darkest back row.

Nothing left but two lonely pieces.
Forever frozen in opposite corners.
Staring over a checkered past.
Over a field of a burned-out dream....

Have We Gone Too Far
"Can we still order black coffee???
Are brownies taken off the shelf?"
"Is White Castle changing its name?"
"I'm sure Cracker Barrel is screwed!"
"Can we still play Chinese Checkers?"
"No more Italian Sausages."
"I ask you, how far do we go with
this foolishness?"

Checkers!!!
Black and red squares
going nowhere
you move up, down, horizontal almost everywhere
Jump me , I jump you
Move to the other ends of the square
old one new ones too
All intellectuals do
Crown me, king me, I statically grin
You won, I win, whose next who's in
this a game of
Checkers???...

Checkers Vs Chess
We play checkers....God plays chess
Our quick game of checkers usually result
in distress...

He knows all ....sees all
Don’t need a crystal ball...

In silent rescue...He plays His game of chess;
always 10 moves ahead
working on our hasty chaotic mess...

All the while we boil in the oil of impatience;
contemplating our fate...
Before we know it...God says —checkmate!...

Blue light special
Cha Cha Cha
Come on down
Rah Rah Rah
Get those coats
Hats mittens too
Our checkers can put things on lay-a-way-for you
We are K-Mart through and through.

Blue light special
Cha Cha Cha
Come on over
Rah Rah Rah
Get those dolls and soldier boys
Here is a giant cart for all those toys
We can lay them away for Christmas, so your kids will not be blue.
K-mart is waiting here for you!...

Waiting Woes
Hurry with their groceries.
Don't wait till I am overseas.
I'm asking where's the bagger.
If I do it I will stagger.

Why are the lanes so empty?
The people are of plenty.
Where are all the checkers?
You're a bunch of home wreckers.

I was due home two hours ago.
Why are they going oh so slow?
It's past my dinnertime.
It's supposed to be my dime.

My shoes are hurting my toes.
It's the day of waiting woes....

Old Memories
The light blue mountain sky reminds me of old memories,
playing in the waves on the beach shore,
or seeing who can win the checkers game back at Papas.

I remember the taste of honey as my parents gave me a spoonful every year for my birthday, and how exited I was to receive my first medal, gleeming in the bright, beautiful sun.

Oh, how I will miss those days, but new and better ones await you. All you need my friends, is patience....

HUMPTY TRUMPY’S WILL TO WALL

Humpty Trumpy is building his wall,
Hope Humpty Trumpy doesn’t fall
For if Russian or Chinese politicians
Want to put him together again,
For whatever gain,
Perhaps Humpty Trumpy should first
Learn to say, thank-you or please,
In Russian, Chinese or Cantonese.
But then of course what will Americans say,
To this disarray,
Would they all want to speak the same,
And take part in Humpty Trumpy’s
Political checkers game?...

Premium Member Summer Rain Storm
Terror driven the thunderstorm outside
Animals are uncomfortable and wet
There is no willing earthly place to hide
Grandma sits and knits as aunt and uncle fret
There is a pause, the lightning not well set
Gray thunder roars as loud as any train
Across from grandpa I move my checker and yet
Unnamed feelings cause me a bit of strain
Knowing some are out there in the horrid rain

Two Kings Playing Checkers
Two kings were playing checkers. One challenged the other to a dual over lunch. The first king took a bite of his salami sandwich. And oh what a pickle he was in! The second king jumped two of his pieces and then took two! “Check!” he said proudly. “Check?” questioned the other. “How is it that I only turned my head briefly and you have called check?” “No, no!” shouted the other. I knew I was going to lose so I called the waitress for my receipt.

The End of Islam
Countdown siren. Islam is at stake.
Arabic Y2K, Countdown.
Islam in Jeaporday, I breath Hajj.
We are near the science incentive.
The smell of petrol, the beginning of empty goldmines.
Empty Oil Checkers on cars.
Islam in jeaporday.
Allah protect the saviours.
A sliding ice knife.
The tempo of Islam
The son of Islam in humankind.
We cannot breath the criticality
I cannot heathen the heresay.
Smell the petrol, I cannot walk in the Middle East.
I would rather Die
The End of Islam...

Premium Member Children Deserve a Turn
The pandemic has changed how we think.
We cannot touch hands without consequences.
We cannot do hand up, pair up, share up at school.
We cannot play duck duck goose or ring around the rosie
Or London Bridge or any of the normal games.
We cannot play chess or Chinese checkers or Chutes and Ladders
We would be so busy sanitizing the pieces, we would not get a turn.
I am tired of our kids “not getting a turn”.
Why can’t people do what they need to do
So we can safely return to normal?...
