with eyes wide shut
and riding high
across the thames

Premium Member Women and Fast Cars

There once was a chap from Madagascar
Who was nuts about women and fast cars
   He left the island
   Invested in nylon
Now he's an executive at NASCAR

Self Driving Cars - Bah

The car must become a freethinker
Case someone it might greatly injure
It clearly must steer
And brake and change gear
And give other bad drivers the finger

Premium Member Fast Women and Cars

There once was an alien from Mars
Who went ape over fast women and cars
   He'd searched all the stars
   Every tavern and bar
Thinking: "Sure wish those women were ours!"

I Went For a Drive On Cars of Any Brand

I went for a drive on cars of any brand.
Yesterday, for example, was driven by "Ferrari".
I was too drunk and very much in a hurry,
And the road crossed completely on the red!

Premium Member Muscle Cars

They roar up the street in a thunderous way
Where are they heading? The great big highway?
The engine whines as they push the metal down.
We hear teenagers’ cars straining all over town.

Cars

Always building cars,
Dodge enjoyed framing grand historical ideas.
Jaguar kept long models noble.
Overdrawn Pontiac quadrupled.
Rare Saturn tested unfair.
Victorious winner xeroxed yet zany.

No Flying No Meat

Frequent flying will leave the Earth dead. Driving cars means disaster ahead. And we must give up meat or our maker we’ll meet. So it’s settled: we're staying in bed.

Premium Member Self-Driving Cars

Self-driving cars are coming, they're not far off Are we ready to trust them if we get into the sauce If we stagger about Holler and shout Jump into the driver's seat and continue to froth

birds migrate to southern wind
old cars slowing down

Cars

cars pass by
the hospital
by the crematory
and emit exhaust fumes
and the chimneys
by the crematory
they emit smoke
emit the dead
from Dante's Inferno
and we breathe them
we breathe death
and sneeze a lot

Premium Member From Autos To Cars

Motion pictures became movies
    Then turned into flicks
  Automobiles became cars
    and lost their stick shifts

  Cars need to be licensed
    Don't lose your title
  'Cos if you can't drive
    Your motor will idle

A Brief Encounter

Like scenes from a romance the world passed by
When you came into view and Time stood still
As I sat agape, mesmerized until
Our cars moved on before I could say “Hi!”
Now my heart’s left with an eternal sigh.

Self-driving cars scare the hell out of me What if they're female, I'd soil myself down past my knees Now don't write me letters Choosers can't be beggars Love the chickies but these would make even my anti freeze

Olden Cars

Cars in the seventies,
Had character, you see,
Lime green Fords with stripes GT,
Waxed on weekends, thoroughly,
Double Cam exhausts with Mag wheels,
Now bland cars are the deal,
White, black, silver or grey,
Purple or orange cars just drove away!

Premium Member Hissing Swishing Rumbling

Hissing cars
Swishing trucks
Rumbling bikes
Life is a highway
Really?
Combusting cylinders
Pumping pistons
Turning crankshaft
Spinning flywheel
Engaging transmission
Motoring drive
Tranferring power
Rolling tires
Hissing
Swishing
Rumbling
Crash and burn
Life goes on

Premium Member our arrogant cars

two gleaming shiny cars
how much do they know?
they have taken our family on many journeys
they have seen our anger

Do they make fun of us
Behind our backs?
Maybe in front of our faces?

How can we shame or punish them
if we don’t know?
I stare at the cars in my driveway
resenting their feeling of superiority
