Notes About The Poem

I never thought about how far away from liftoff you had to be. We visited Cape Canaveral before the pandemic (aren't we always on one side or the other of that event...lol). We pulled somewhere off the road to watch the upcoming blastoff. There was a countdown, then a no-go. Oh well. 

 

Few Cars for Liftoff

few cars for liftoff disappointed by “no-go” sighs and shrugs but in 1969 it was a parking lot high
