As one freshly released from Bedlam
He asked her, intending no harm
"Can I kiss you madam"?
As if he were her Adam
Her fist fell on his cheek ‘dum’ ‘dum’!

Golden Gratitude

A weary world clanging dank chains to deride
sweet whispers, caresses that lovers confide,
where golden hearth glows, I yearn to reside.
Let bedlam be still. Let chaos subside.
In you, I flourish. In you, I abide.

Premium Member Memo from Bedlam

Dear sir or madam
    (inside the walls of Bedlam),
there is no problem
     (no ogre or no goblin).
Therefore, no solution
     (inside this institution)
requires your attention.
     (I just thought I'd mention.)

Joyful Anarchy

gramps' farm cottage, photogenic,

       exudes country quaintness, scenic,

but wait till his grandkids arrive,

bedlam it'll be, a mad hive,

what to us may be anarchic,

            for gramps, joyfully chaotic!

Premium Member A Frustrated Et

An ET from Planet Mars named Delmo,

Landed on Planet Earth to say hello.

"From my view from outer space,

Earth looked like a peaceful place!"

(He saw bedlam and fled in his UFO!)

Wild Weather

In October when we are adjusting to
cool temperatures and changing leaves,
Nature fast forwards into Winter,
sending us freaky weather,
Tales of snow, winds and storms,
makes everyone shiver, thinking
of the pending mayhem,
when the weather creates bedlam.

TALKIN' TURKEY

muddy yard
wagon tracks
log long handled axe

holiday
yesterday’s news
wrapped around the pump

four grown men
on the prowl
early coffee brewing

child crying
old dog lies opens one eye
screeching bedlam

feathers
feathers here there
everywhere

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Last Night

Through a lightning's gash
By a war-like clash
Nigh blinded! Oh the bedlam!
Then the expulsion
Of something, yond the realms of
Washed up repulsion!

With its dragon's wings
And its bellowings
What flew down our street; over
Rooftops; yours, mine.
Great fear, formed a storm from out.
Greatest accursed sign.

Premium Member Ruthless Vibrancy of Me

Caught up in a swift maelstrom of my own emotional dances
Showing blips and bleeps of my diabolical solid evil side,
I began twirling myself into my usual schizophrenic frenzy
Was the result pandemonium? Bedlam? A straight jacket?
Ruthless vibrancy flung into an enthusiastic vigor of truth,
In a luminous way I have to admit it was merely another day for me.

Tears Are All She Knew

Where tears are all she knew,
and from this day forward she flew..
to be no more; she mourns
simple white roses,
tangled and torn
in her golden hair that poses
her crown of thorns
bloodstains that disclosures
her angelica face of bedlam dreams
so torn to be free, oh so free
angels fall sometimes even cry
and maybe just maybe angels die....

L'Appel Du Vide

On the ledge of her eyelash,
Waterfalls crash on unspoken sins,
Souls floating down Athena's bridge
Embedded in obsessive skin

I grin
She frowns,
I frown,
She grins

I'm bound to
             tame
             Lilith,
Is bedlam supposed to break Our will?

I'm bound to
the call of the Void
Kronos’s chaos, Ursula’s uproar;
the way that Hermione heals

The Stuff Stardust Hussled

Embedded with bedlam
How I be, son of mercy
Growing roots through time

Your ancient emerald sings
Those pony palace wings
Striving a given truth
Finding appreciation in community blues
Although somewhat uncouth

We bring a sorely needed muse
Primeaval man woman myth
The stuff stardust hussled
Through the midnight dawn
To get over and beyond
Passed the portal and onto the next song

The New Norm

The mad streets roam alone,
the mice people scuttle, just scuttle
lest they be found separately.
Bedlam slips its moorings,
boats are rocked.
Across America the inmates strut
out of the holes in their heads
pick a victim, kick down the heedless,
and the police watch their wristwatches
waiting for the shift to begin,
but none show up,
only the pavement patients,
and the sick souls who need help
to die.

Premium Member Just For a Day

Let us escape. Please...
come away with me.
Let's find paradise;
a sanctuary
meant for you and me...

just for a day.
This world is fraught...
with such bedlam!
Babe, imagine...

a peaceful
getaway
from all the...

chaos;
you and...

me.
