A Limerick on Limericks

A sentence or two, nothing more.
Five rhymes, and then back out the door.
A meter that’s strained,
Some topic profaned:
Ah me! What’s a limerick for?

Gadzooks

Check out the Gadzooks
on that one
the nasty boys say

I say go to your corner
and cry
like the children you are

Come back out
when you have grown up.

Like a Magic Show

Sunny blue skies wave me farewell
Into my domicile to take a phone call

Back out on the porch as soon as I can
Starry skies greet me in a conversation's span

Tossed About By Storm

Tossed About By Storm

By storm things were tossed all about,
And after all over, there was no doubt;
Location,
A relation;
We knew where to put things back out.

Striving To Live

Striving to live
I put my truth into myself
attempting to pull me back out

Alas I am kicking and shrieking
for body is in pain-like stupor

All energy is for survival today.

Heat; Day's, Night's

Heat; day's, night's. The difference
Twixt caliph's oppressiveness
Swirled of sands about;
And what fine garbed, a-glitter
Offspring's, oozing sultriness
His own, lures back out.

Midnight
Fireworks
New year
Never hurts

Back in
Party hard
Back out
Fresh start

Head hurts

Never works

Back in

Black out
Falling hard

Source of An Epic Life

An older woman
Reading on the light rail,
In her purse, a bottle of water
With these words on the label,
"Source of an Epic Life."
I shift my gaze back out the window,
And face reality.

She Has a Hidey Hole

She has a hidey-hole in the workplace.
Sometimes we cannot find her for hours.
I found it accidentally once, but could not tell anyone
Because it was a rat’s nest and I never found my way back out.

No Mans Land

With little to gain
and much more to lose
the soldier reloads
no longer to choose

A fate most uncertain
all outcome in doubt
his soul placed in Limbo
—too late to back out

Oh, Well

I went to the store, and right back out the door,
It left me feeling kinda funny.
No chips, candy or teas or soda for me,
Because I forgot my money.
Oh, well, I say and continue my day,
At least it is mostly sunny.

Didn'T List'Em

A wife sent her hub to the store; she phoned in more items galore. He forgot to write ‘em, came back sans one item; she sent him right back out the door.

The Breath

Alive and death,
Are only The Breath,
Moving through the depths,
Growing it's strength,
Going to any lengths,
To enjoy an experience,
Coming In sync with the dance,
Back out into the expanse,
Creating chance after chance

Nature Abhors a Vacuum

The black hole took a bite of stars,
he dreamed a candy store.
He ate a hundred billion stars,
and still he wanted more.

When he had finished everything,
the universe was bare.
He put some stars back out in space,
to have an ‘over there’.

WHAT OUR CHILDREN ARE TEACHING US

Today’s blessing is an old reminder for parents
That every now and deserves to be brought back out:

While you we trying to teach our children (and grandchildren) about life
without trying, they are teaching us what life is all about.

Too Many Sweets

i jammed my tummy full of tons of goods:
sweeters, bakeys, taffy trunks..
i stuffed my tumm with so many foods,
i ended up spewing chunks.

oh, my sugary, candy-filled vomit,
you were much better going in it than coming back out it.

Pearl In a Shell

If you were the ocean
I would never let you drift
Back out to sea
I would hold you as if

You were a precious
Sea shell
Never letting you
Drift away

Your my pearl in a shell
Let me love you
Let me care for you
My sweet

Hope

If all that we hoped to find is nowhere to be found
Do we turn away?
Run back out to misery?
Be who we used to be?
Loath how we live
And how we are?
Or do we keep searching
And never stop until we find it
Let's just keep hoping
And see what happens

The Dead Pitter Patter

days spent, the pitter patter of my heart beating faster.
Our love, my love, i thought it was real.
Urs was just fake.
Everytime you came on, it beat and flip flopped.
But now you tell me, you've asked your ex back out.
My pitter pattering heart died out.

Shiver

Burr!
It is cold.
The snow covers the ground
in a blanket of
fluffy coldness.
It is icy and i love it.
It makes me shiver .
I need another layer of
clothes.
But I don't dare go inside
to become warm,
because I just might come
back out to find
the snow has gone.
