Now set loose
Moans!...

Animal Instinct
(preferably read in a Boston accent)

When pesky problems piss you off
At no one in particular,
Or bleeping blockheads boil your blood
To rage like old Caligula,
Or dawdling drivers make you mull
Mass homicide, vehicular,
Don’t blame yourself; it’s not your fault;
It’s just your darn amygdala....

Amygdala Starved
Shut mine eyes and close my throat
Cut from me my senses
Maybe then my parting note
Will drift back through my defenses

Fear
My continuous, unpleasant sense of worry
Makes my heart begin to hurry,
Makes my vision become so blurry,
And my anxiety is present.
I wish I could just scurry.

The unpleasant feeling that I feel
Makes me question what is real,

And my dread is torment.
I let out a tiny squeal.

My amygdala sensing a threat
Makes my body begin to sweat,
Makes my breath heavily jet.
And my fear is frequent.
I wonder if I'm dead yet....
