Ada
JUST SEEING HER FOR ONE DAY MAKES MY WHOLE WEEK BETTER, I THANK GOD THAT SHE

IS IN MY LIFE, SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE WANTS, BUT I WILL GIVE HER WHAT SHE NEEDS,

HER LOVE IS ALL I WANT, AND I WILL GIVE HER ALL MY LOVE..........

Ada
Agelessly beautiful and benevolent
Wise in the simplest of ways

“I’ve never been bored in my life”
She once said to me

Me, the definition of bored
She does not know this, but I do

They don’t see me as I see myself
I wish I could borrow her beautiful heart

Just for one day so I could learn
How exactly life is to be live

You are a gift...

Premium Member My Beautiful Ada
Here comes my beautiful Ada!
The flower of my youth
Elegant and sure footed
Poised to conquer the world
A gazelle of inestimable beauty
Resilient and full of
Joie de vivre and open heartedness
Ada no one is like you
And no one can ever be like you
You are beautifully and wonderfully made
Rise and lighten up global
Entertainment firmament
For the world is your oyster...

Child's Play
( Child's aspiration)
Mummy if l become a teenager
I will cook good food for you
Of course Ada I know you will
But mummy
Can I still sleep with you
No Ada
Okay when I get married mum
I will make you stay with my
Family
Yes Ada
For then I will become old
And my children will call you
Grand ma
Then I will tell them
The grey hair stories
Of a grand mother about
The snake and the tortoise
By moonlight...

Form: Dramatic Monologue
Territory of Absolution
To think of death before she died,
to go where we can not yet go
but still we must.

To be 3,000 miles away when she
gave up the ghost and surrendered,
eyes closed forever, with nary a sound.

Wanting to have said "goodbye mum"
when she was still here to hear it,
and before the light was gone for her,
but not yet for me.

              *******

Inspired by the poetry of Ada Limon,
and with thoughts on my own mother's death....
