Untitled #120 / the Skin On the Tips of My Fingers

The skin on the tips of my fingers
is peeling off! Help me!
So is the skin all over my body!
Help! Oh wait!
So is your skin!
It’s all natural!
Nothing to fear!

Shimmering cascades of tumbling clear water free falling.

Tiny sparkling crystal-like droplets escaped the mighty deluge.

Sun soaked the waterfall glistened like diamond jewelry.

Have you wondered why the sun's so far away Coz any closer, on a Florida beach, you'd use words profane You'd fry like a lobster Like a deep red monster The heat at 120º Fahrenheit gives one inexplicable pain

turbulent and troublesome

redirect all that energy

Julie, after your passing
snow fell on Manhattan.

You were not there to share
flakes falling fast. silencing

the streets, slowing pedestrians
on perilous sidewalks, but I,

sweet sister Not-of-my-blood,
sister of my soul, I was

there for you in the city
of our hearts.

Premium Member Progression of Regression

Premier Stalin was a gangster
  an armed robber who
'became' a Marxist
  'progressive'

Murdered 120 million
  of his fellow Soviets
Seems to me his 'career'
  was regressive

FLASHLIGHT IN THE FOG ~~~~~~~~~~ in the thick of night, a beam cuts through the stillness— truth in the whispered fog the fog holds its breath, time bends and stretches, and I am both lost and found

Love Blooms

Love Blooms

Sing to me like a lark;
let your songs calm the dark.
With dawn’s cool, fresh, night dew
love, like a bud, blooms new.

Through the streets of festive Seoul--

Ghosts replaced the youth!*

© Demetrios Trifiatis
     30 October 2022

* In Seoul, South Korea, thousands of young people
filled the streets to celebrate Hallowing, today. Unfortunately,
more than 150 young people died, more than 120 are injured, and
some 270 are missing because of a crowd crush. R.I.P.!
My condolences to the families of the victims.

A Whisper In Red

The whisper in red

I had been watching TV
And as often happen when I watch
A minute sleep only
A wisp of a young woman in a red ballerina dress.
Sat on the floor leaning her head at my leg.
When seeing I was awake, she got up
And disappeared silently as a falling leaf.
Later that evening I watch a French art program
And the lady in red was painted 120 years ago.
Was the one, the expert, spoke about
They knew it was Degas but none knew who she was.

Eternal Optimism

Good morning day light
It is good to see you again
You've brought with you a bright new day
And the promise of things to come
Eternal optimism comes with the light
For today anything is possible

Good evening night shade
It is good to see you again
You've brought with you a peaceful evening
And the promise of dreams to come
Eternal optimism comes with the night
For tonight anything is possible
