Before you set out to face
the day
take a moment
to close your eyes
and free your mind
of all thought,
inhale deeply,
hold it for a few seconds,
then exhale slowly.
Did you feel that?
It's life energy
coursing through your body,
revitalizing your spirit.
Now close your eyes
again,,
Inhale deeply,
hold it for a few seconds,
then exhale slowly.
Did you hear it?
God's whisper,
subtle,
tranquil,
will guide you throughout
the day.
Now close your eyes
again,
inhale deeply,
hold it for a fel . w seconds,
then exhale slowly.
This will jumpstart
your day.
Then go out into the world
and chase your dreams,
and don't let anyone
steal your joy.
If they try,.
you know what to do,
close your eyes,
free your mind of all thought,
and listen for God's
whisper,
then smile,
feel His Amazing Grace,
and continue
your journey through time.
Friends follow the fraternal advice of a bosom friend.
The disciples followed each word of Jesus till the end.
As birds and beasts, on divine providence, they did depend
Kingdom's sake, like adventurers, all pains they did transcend
Clasping to their bosoms, with divine love, they healed the sick.
Raising the dead, as though waking the sleeping, was no trick.
Lepers were cleansed. Demons, like leaves in storms, did quickly flick.
God's kingdom, like a classic castle, was built brick by brick.
Like rain from above, they gained well-being and elation.
Freed from mammon's hold, they obtained divine revelation.
Bound in grace, physique, and psyche, attained transformation.
Spun in faith, they realised body-soul integration.
The heaven of existence they found in Jesus alone
Like seeds of spring in fertile fields, graces in them was sown.
The ship has made sail
at midnight under the moon,
as the stars twinkle.
I set out mousetraps
Not expecting to catch a robber
But I did.
He was a big fellow, full grown
Nigh onto fifty probably.
Wore a mask.
Before I released him I asked him to take it off.
He refused,
And he was rude.
So I made him stay in the kitchen.
And I went back to bed.
Hoping he would change his mind.
By morning he was gone, took my mousetrap too.
Left my front door wide open.
Ruder than rude.
I was thinking this as I sat in my recliner
And reached for my remote.
It was gone, and my TV was gone too.
I hope to never catch that robber again!
I set out
To change my ways
Beneath an amber sun
I became a man
Sweat on my brow
Tears in my eyes
I dropped the bottle
And it shattered
The poison stained my veins
Bleeding out as tears
A lone cowboy
Herding stars in the sky
I'm not alone
I just fenced myself in
The poison whispered lies
The folly was in believing them
I'll never be different
If I give into temptation
My worst enemy
Has always been myself
One last round of Russian Roulette
Either he dies or I die
I've got too much to do
To die by an intoxicant
One last gunshot
And I'm still on my feet
The demon in the bottle is dead
And I'm ready to live again
Let's set out to sea
leaving the harbor with reluctance
but searching for the freedom in the wind.
Set the sails just so
we are drawn in the directed tidal flow
bounding out to sea.
Follow the horizon there
off in the distance
as the sun rise gives us light and warmth.
All in life has brought us to this
warm breezes, salted air, harbors that await
the arrival of our journey's start.
Let's set out to sea
free of the land that bound us
to tasks unplanned and once tied us down.
Let the wind take us out
along the very edge of the world
to live and breathe, forever free, set upon the wind.
Latch tight, harnessed
to the very winds of change
and the time awaiting,
all that is yet to be.

What If We Set Out
What if we set out and followed a path
After cleaning up while taking a bath
Wondering what should be done after that
Into battle ended up in mortal combat.
Battle was brewing as had been before
Well aware of what we were fighting for
Then all our rifles we locked and loaded
A weapon next to me had just exploded.
A piercing, erratic noise rang in my ear
From a weapon that was close and near
Where could that bullet possibly now be
Was one that had accidentally killed me.
Accidental deaths are so many in battle.

The set out then be pace,
nor rigors interface
no fusing of the will
can so define my space!
Philosophies concur
I live as God is pure
by moments without slur
nor detrements incur!
Go on, the ceilings wry
with options, not deny
the overhead not cry
nor numbers, so imply!
Set out ~ the reason why
to change my fortune's sky
too soon, my thoughts adjourn
while interest, slips, friends burn!
Not ground's defacing earn
or bound investment's yearn
set out ~ to change world's turn
without onlookers spurn!
Their idle daydreams spent
nor tithe to pay their rent
Go on ~ set out ~ invent -
the problems not resent~
Necessities content
doth winnow with extent,
