Premium Member Cross My Heart

I cross my heart and hope to die,
A childhood pact between you and I.
A sacred X, a secret sign,
Promising your heart would stay with mine.

We sealed our words with a silent grace,
A mirrored promise on each other's face.
One soul, two bodies, a perfect whole,
Bound by a truth that fed my soul.

But you broke the cross, you left the 'X' bare,
A gaping hole where you once were.
Left me to mend what you tore apart,
A shattered promise, a broken heart.

I cross my heart, but it's just a scar,
A ghost of a twin who traveled too far.
And I'm left behind, with everything to bear,
And a broken promise hanging in the air.

The unicorn eggs had been hidden many fortnights ago,
The last to remember them was a Prophetess named Woe.
She had written down the secret sign to open the safe of gold
But it had blown under the throne room floor and now lay cold.

Because it was their tradition, armed guards continued to stand guard.
No idea they were guarding priceless unicorn eggs loaned by a bard.
A magical castle this had once been, with glorious tapestries and such.
War of the Giant Blasters had torn it apart; now it was not much.

Troupe of faeries were hired. They had given king the smallest bid.
On a mission of hope and faith, for they knew what Wow did.
When they chopped up the floor, they tunneled into the unopened safe.
Squirreled magic unicorn eggs to fairy land for their Princess Grace.

Guards continue to guard the gold safe daily, thinking it holds riches.
It truly is practically empty but sh! None of us want to be snitches.
One day someone will give you some released unicorn eggs.
Then there will be rainbow unicorns prancing about under your legs!

Premium Member The Snake Charmer

Eyes of deep black ebony
Piercing in their focus fixed stare
They watch with their impassioned intent
To strip my soul bare.

Hypnotic harbinger of my fate
The silent slink motion hardly seen
Bending forward with nearness goal
Till energy itself is keen.

Abrupt dart of a black forked tongue
The only secret sign of a hidden glee
In relish with synchronised open jaws
I am lost to which will be.

Premium Member Secret Sign

You've battled hard and so long, dear one
Life is so brief- time, the berry of the vine
A shooting star skipping over a pond.
Glimpses of the hereafter divine.

Time to leave this world far behind.
Shed earthly shells, take to the sky,
Isn't life cruel, but isn't life fair.
My heart will go on beating
but will never fully repair.

Now take my hand, dear one, it's time to say our final goodbye.
Take my hand, dear one
Close those pretty blue eyes.
When you reach that timeless golden side,
Please send me our sweet secret sign.

The Younger Me

I'm searching for the younger me,
Together we'll survive.
The person that I used to be
Has ruined all my life.

I wish she helped me understand
What's hidden in the lies,
What demon forced her to pretend
And play a lover twice.

I wish she had a chance to know
One story of heartbreak
Is better than quick love on show,
Her hero was a fake.

I'm writing to the younger me,
The letters may be lost,
But words will find the addressee
One day at any cost.

"Remember, we were seventeen
And you could love despite
The distance, waiting and routine,
And that's your secret might.

You talked to loved ones in your dreams,
You saw a secret sign,
And that was love beyond extremes,
Sincere and pristine.

Embraces on the dirty floor
At late December nights,
One kiss that made you long for more
And blurry city lights...

Remember it... what have you done?
You've left it all behind.
I could be you, we could be one,
But I'm a different kind".

My Perfect Sign

Sometimes life sends you a secret sign,
In which you do not see,
However, If you do not look carefully,
The perfect chance may never be.

Only time will tell,
What life has in stored,
So beauty should be discovered within,
To look past all the scars and past mores.

So, search your life completely,
And don't think twice about things,
Because life seems to be difficult,
But you always make my heart sing.

When it appears that no one cares,
The one you least expect is always there,
For true love always with stands the test of time,
Because they do care no matter how bad things are.

Loving you is all that I know,
Because I feel our lives were brought together,
Even though it took you so long to see,
That our love is meant to be.

Nightfall

the night falls and swallows the light
the colours and images no longer in sight
i hide under the duvet to protect myself
but its everywhere and can reach inside itself
the moon is left with its eerie glow
a secret sign that know one knows
the stars start to twinkle up in sight
it would be beautiful expect for the night
the sky so big it just swallows the light
leaving nothing but dull bleak sights
im now wrapped up tight
shivering with every single sight
but then dawn breaks and i see the sun
and now i can finally see my mum
the red bright rays chase the dark
theres no trace of it not even a mark
