Waking up to the dull drab grey,
the washed out color of my cheeks;
So cold outside day after day
through the window frigid air sneaks;
Winter Be Gone! I've had enough!
You've stolen every bit of grandeur
leaving your cold icy fluff;
Now all I see is Spring's allure
Behind that angry frozen glare
Lies the slowing of winters dance;
Sunshine and flowers tip the air
We long for thaw, Spring's romance
1/19/13
warm, the early dawn begins
swarm of honey bees on bouquets of wild flower
mourn as sunlight erases the dew
adorn the coming day with skies of blue
with eager emotions I rise up early
this day to conquer, feeling squirrelly
miss the moment, I not dare
kiss the day good morning!
low temperature begins the day
go mow the blades of grass
no excuse to stay inside
blow softly on a cup of Jo'
one moment to read my daily word
fun is soon to follow
sun glistens in the East
run into this day and all to follow
clouds will come as morning's past
shrouds of gray and white alas
loud claps of thunder, flashes of light
proud to feel summer's heat retreat
summer's warmth

Seeing as how Georgia has mountains
That rise above the beautiful coast
Mountains gather snow some winter morns
Helen is quietly nestled there
Gold was found in those hills long ago
Still being mined today in Dalton
The blasts are felt at night__slight rumble
Gold awaits__the huge vein there they say
Down at coast awaits a day of play
Fun in the sun or boat ride on marsh
See the Dolphins greeting dance at river
Savannah Beach for a day or stay
Georgia has variety mountains high
Coastal plains____I can not complain
A summer’s day is like a dream,
The sun that shines, the flowing stream.
The bird’s that sing their summer song,
A perfect day that last’s so long.
But not so long, for when night fall’s,
The cool dark breeze, the wild life calls.
Owl’s awake to find their prey,
The moon’s their sun, the night their day.
And so the darkness turn’s to light,
Another day bid’s good bye to night.
The grass is warmed by the sun’s bright ray,
Another dreamy summer’s day.
No sunlight today
Naught but a cloud
No bliss this day
On this day of October
The day you were born
Oh, somber Tuesday
Out comes the sun
Straight to the beach
Lots of good fun
To the Little kids teach
The water is cool
In the hot sun
A day spent in a cool pool
Is such good fun
The day finally ends
Home we do run
As the sun does send
Tomorrows new fun
The hot day called for enjoyment outside
As her playfulness gave way to water games
The hose was alive in her hands as it sprayed
Dousing me with fun, love and affection
The smile on her face signaled her joy
As in retaliation, her clothes clung, dampened
Two could never have as much fun as we shared
On that once hot day in the summer
Retiring to a cool room would be perfect
But, perfection became a preference, a choice
As we continued our summer fun and frolic
Enjoying the heat of the day, before the heat of the night
I can smell the fresh mint,
In the fields by the pond,
I can see your shining face,
Your hair bleached to blonde.
The water dancing on your skin,
As we swam the day away,
The clouds we watched passing by,
As we lay on our backs that day.
Nighttime again,
And the stars like jewels in the sky,
No sooner had we fallen asleep,
The night had passed us by.
Bright sunshine is cast into the room,
A new day had begun,
Already my mind was thinking,
What there had to be done.
I would watch you dance,
With a ribbon in your hair,
Your movements smooth and graceful,
As you twirled through the air.
It is in a dream world,
That we have become friends,
The world around us falls apart,
But our happiness never ends.
I hope the years will be kind,
When I have to leave this place,
But I will always remember,
The sweet smile on your face.
We have shared timeless youth,
In the fields by the pond,
I can see your shining face,
Your hair bleached to blonde.
