Three funny guys, Curly, Larry, and Mo
Slapstick comedians, you all must know
But there are three circus clowns
Who create mayhem and frowns
The crowd calls them Corny, Hairy and Schmo
Corny thinks he's the wily ring leader
Acting as if he's a Walmart greeter
Talking like he's really cool
But people laughed at the fool
Gobbled by the lion called 'Man Eater'
Hairy can be a bear when in pursuit
Got his name from being very hirsute
He was threatened with a shave
If he refused to behave
He bit off his tongue and now is a mute
Sad has become the life of flunky Schmo
He feeds peanuts to monkeys in the show
Since he lost his two friends
Finds himself at loose ends
Three circus clowns; each one was a bozo
Hey, Joe,
please answer
all of humanity
a one-word question,
just ONE...
Why?

there is average Joe Schmo
who seeks no more to know
than he exists
and he goes with the flow of the show
others tell him there’s much more
and he shows them the door
as the nation and it’s politicians
go to war
there is average Joe Schmo
who thinks he’s in the know
and now stands in the middle of the field
wounded and weighed down by woe
wishing and waiting
for a do over
Sergeant Schmo was chef in an Army mess.
He excelled in concocting S.O.S.,
But troops preferred M.R.E.s,
They were very hard to please!
Don't know what S.O.S. is? Take a guess!
(P.S.: Ask a veteran nearest you what S.O.S. is - the answer will astound you!)
At a fashionable diner,
a very funny familiar scene unfolds
A man dressed in his Sunday best clothes,
orders an appetizer for him and his date
In a jiffy comes the waiter
with two delicious bowls of soup
Then comes that familiar part ...
Oops!
Soup split all over his nice threads,
lighting up the red bulb in his head
Only one question for social science
need be asked though:
Will you be the schlemiel or the schmo?
Will you be the chump
who gets the soup dumped in your lap?
Or will you be the bungler
who does the Three Stooges stumble act?
Schlemiel or schmo,
which one are you?
I wanna know
Schmo or schlemiel ...
either way,
a stupid look is stupid still
