Premium MemberImagination

"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination." - Albert Einstein

Imagination is a special thing.
While you are sitting still, the mind takes flight.
Perhaps you are attached to a kite string
see-sawing in the sky as you gain height,
touching clouds or riding on a rainbow.
Maybe into outer space you travel.
Seeing unknown wonders and earth below,
what mysteries your brain can unravel.
Magic carpets and rockets you don’t need.
With imagination, your soul is freed.

Zzzz

Having counted wooly sheep
was woken from a deep delta sleep
in the middle of the night
thought I'd heard a pig snort
but no that can't be right
tho' kicked out of bed
and landing on my head
knew where I stood
for delegated to the floor
then relegated to the room next door
when in no uncertain terms she said,
'You're sawing wood, you snore!'

Not as such a silk purse,
but a sow's ear would be worse.
Not so much a pig in a poke
(jiggery-pokery),
more a poke at a pig in a joke
(piggery-jokery).
All in all,
Sy-hokery!

Amazing crowds just like that

Pulling rabbits from a hat

Producing coins from your ear

Making tigers disappear

Doing card tricks for a laugh

Sawing assistants in half

It's abracadabra presto

Did you hear about that politician doing something illegal

..

…pick one
Triden or Bump
The or wins every time
All the new politicians
wore new suits
but everyone ones starving
Tell you what it is a good strategy
Less to rule
My queen was Freddie
No kings in Scotland
and your creepy brother
needs locked up
And mate seriously you need to go to speck( was gonna do a bit about tunnel vision then I remembered)
savour how sublimely this line turns into rhy
Me a name you call yourself
Breaking rules
Every law was flawed
Thor was sawing a puss ycat kin half
I think I might write a false history book
where a.I. Primary purpose is to begin the creation of
humanity so that they create a.I.
They know the difference between a duck
One of its legs is the same as the other one
Why not Robyn Hood
I wanna be the first woman to play Batman
We got here marvellously
Bye

Premium MemberContemplating An Endless While

Contemplating an endless while
I eyed my screen, prepared to smile
But what I saw filled me with dread
It made me think I was brain-dead

Screen was empty as my cupboard's bare
At which point, out fell my hair
But then I thought, 'This could be good'
~ So I went back to sawing wood

I Wait For You Each Day

I wait for you each day
Watching out the window
I wonder where you went
Not somewhere I could go?
That's how my time is spent

I wait for you each day
Pull stuffing out of toys
Maybe go through the trash
Guard house from outside noise
Snacking on my new stash

I wait for you each day
I'm mostly sawing logs
Can't wait for you, to sniff
Were you with other dogs?
I can tell in one whiff....

I wait for you each day
Except on the weekend
Go for an early roam
Full day with my best friend
I love when you are home

I wait for you each day
When you leave, do you say,
Something like I love you?
I tilt my head one way
To say I love you too

Home's a Wreck

Too many listen and give in to domestic terrorism/
Home’s a wreck and terror’s risen for our children/
Most don’t inspect many carry on missing radicalism in their own colosseum/
No call to see ‘em no wall we’ll greet ‘em /
I’ll sprawl and take any call to free them from whatever bad man/
From the tales we’re told as kids too tall for our short attention span/
To the guide rails blurred /
As they asked his to crawl when they need to get walking/
You see them down that’s the only way you’re kicking it with kin/
It’s true I’m on a path of a one pony savior gripping it and withering/
All new weathering whether winning or taking a slipping loss never falling/
Re-gripping your loft to grow a new crop for your own sods sawing

Premium MemberSawing Logs

The sunroom in the afternoon
I’m on the couch; Missy, the floor.
We both are right competitive
when working on the loudest snore.
Poor Frances has her headphones on;
it’s that or likely lose her mind.
Or so she says, but when I woke,
I heard her sawing logs in kind.

Premium MemberFlight To Dreamland

Right beside me lies my dog
Flight to dreamland, slumbers deep
Quite the racket, sawing logs
Slight, the chance she wakes from sleep

Eyes are closed, at peaceful rest
Sighs at visions yet unguessed
Rising, falling of her chest
Guys, let’s face it: I am blessed

Torch Lake Iv - Deceitful Sunrise

The cabin is a lumber store of snores
Sawing and hacking while lying on our backs
Filling the day’s orders of dreams and chores

I’m the only one up this early
Alert to the prophecies
With checklists of nails and hammers in hand

The uncontained forest fires north of Superior
Have painted the blue skies over Torch Lake
Opaque with smoke

Twine in the pine trees buckling with birds

The sun does not rise
But burns like a candle
Hazy and orange sweeping the hills

Lighting and fanning the kindling
Of our curtains and walls lampshades and sofas
Our jack-o-lantern cabin
Set aglow

Burning down from the inside out
Its scowling face spitting flames
To the Azaleas wheat fields and faces of deer

Holes in my bucket as I run to the lake
Too late
Too late

Yawns and stretches what’s for breakfast?

Premium MemberIf We Could Bottle Those Emissions

Our dog is sawing logs loudly
so many deep groans as she lets off gas
they smell like charcoal emissions
She is getting older, her snores are shaking the house
I wish we could bottle her emissions and run our car on them

River Stones

they live now
in layers of motion and stillness

a fret sawing wind
a chaffing river
have shaped them

limbless bodies
turned upon
a lathe of time

glints of starlight are in them
eyes blinded by too much
of light
or dark

blue veins leach from granite pores
synapse
with bloods tingling clamor
with fingerprints

a molten world
drips green algae
upheavals whisper
from an unending past

a stone thrown back
finding a voice
in an uttering splash

Premium MemberMy Minutes In a Garden

I heard the sawing drone of the diligent bumblebee before he emerged from the coneflower. He was preoccupied, and busy, heading for his next marigold. It does sound like a buzzing, I thought. I did not realize a bumblebee was so intimidating close up. He wears more black on his stripes than I knew.
I returned to my weed pulling, careful to not annoy or injure my garden visitor. A monarch flew up to me next, she sat on my shoulder for a second. Then she was gone. This is flitting, I thought. The sun was getting hot, but I could not leave yet; I felt strongly that faeries and brownies were counting on me to pull these weeds out, so the flowers could prim and preen a little more proudly.

				  a bumblebee
                        pretty monarch and faeries
                              snake waiting in grass

Premium MemberOde To An Orphan

i. Storm

darkness is a shade
stirring shadows afraid
then the zigzag plunges
agitating the cross
again and again sawing a thin line
blackberry wine
the brew of an angry soak
a curtain torn from top to bottom
the thunder ripping
high priest covers his ears
lest the truth storm in
unwanted like an orphan

 ii. Orphan

six feet under
with no mother nor father
a Ukranian wonder
curls and crown
become somebody’s daughter
no frown
shovel pats down the blunder

iii. Grave

this grave circumstance
shown the door
He stands and knocks
her chance
America an amusement park
the plane her first ride
she’s beside
herself with excitement, a spark
in her step

iv. First Steps

she will take her first steps
the moon will watch
desiring the test soil
she’d have kissed it
with her wit
how many reps
strengthen the catch
watch out world
she belongs
