A birthday is to savor
celebrations never lose their flavor
It’s a milestone, not a millstone
queen or king, please ascend your throne
A poetic community has many ingredients
Tablespoons of metaphors with Alliteration spice
A dash of Haiku makes things nice
Pour in some sonnets into a bowl
Mix in romance to make it whole
Add a sprig of thyme to the rhyme
Sprinkle in some free verse to make it sublime
Stir in some Limericks into the pot
A cup of Triolets will hit the spot
Savor the flavor as you sample the soup
As Personifications waft through the air
Prepare a Pantoum and add to the group
Add a cup of imagery to give it some flair
6-9-2024
I hope your enjoying your Sunday
Before it turns into Monday
And a new week will begin
As relaxing comes to an end
Having fun and chilling out
Is what weekends are all about
Bing watching and having snacks
Before Monday is coming back
Taking naps and getting rest
Making you feel your best
Snuggled up nice and toasty
Feeling all warm and cozy
Catching up on facebook posts
With friends who you love the most
Sending gifs, notes, and selfies
For social media to see
Enjoy this time Before its gone
The weekend doesn't last too long
Before life smacks you in the face
As work days start to take its place
Year 2022 has come and gone
Annus horribilis some say it was
A beautiful year yet for others
But that year is now history
The new year is here!
Embrace and savor it
New opportunities stare you in the face
Seize them while it is still day
The new year is what you make of it
Do not cling on the events of the past
For today is opportunity
And tomorrow a mystery
God the creator of the universe
Thank you for the breath of life
That keeps hope alive!
Let this year be good!
To whom life has lost its savor
The irrational does favor:
To whom existence is a bore
Breaker of Untouchable Law...
Exactly so with Bored Rhonda,
Ready to hug Anaconda,
Eyes planting to the Romantic,
Self lending in the Pedantic...
I would same say of Hunter:
The swayed by life - Bursting Thunder,
Who a try gives The Ecstatic,
Life helping with The Synthetic...
To whom life has lost its savor.
Daily swallow of Saliva.
He is An Empty Survivor:
Satan's Misguided Conniver.
The holiday season's over
It lasts one day too long
Fond memories, even insights
scarred by her torch song
Were I the ruler of the world
I'd end it one day sooner
Savor sweetness while still fresh
from lips of festive crooners

The last of Judaism's Fall Holidays,
Simchas Torah, ended at 6:45 p.m,
(CDT) this evening
Thank you for limping into my heart
With a fractured wing and a shattered horn
For I have reveries of you
Might we have hitched paths?perhaps in our past lives
For I see reclamation when I dance in your eyes
These chaste hands are ready to brave the serenades of your wind
Find a way to love more and invest less
For you dress the attire of my desires
I know we're young but might we draft our vowels in advance?
I wish to write to you what these lips do when you get close to them
For today I bless you with a calm heart and a bag of Roses
You deserve everything that you desire!
I love you K!
It Made Me Think of You
David J Walker
Something
I don’t know what
Reminded me
You are not here
Perhaps it was the pot
On the stove
Like the one you used to
Soak the beans in
Overnight
Before simmering them
All-day
With a ham bone
Shedding its meat
Spreading it flavor
It makes me think of
The savor of
Warm cornbread
Made from scratch
It makes me think of a
Butter and a
Batch of biscuits
Which leads me to
The wild plum jam
Canned last summer
And the day we spent
Picking tomatoes as ripe
As August
And the next week
School started
And everyone looked
Brand new
Something,
I don’t know what
Made me think of you

so Tastier than wine,
further delicious than cheese ...
when savoring your kiss.
Spent another day chasing like each day before,
and what did it gain us this time?
It feels like we’re racing against a short clock,
in effort to scavenge a dime.
I guess I don’t get it - the purpose of such,
seems not but to gather in barns.
A quest to arrive at a distant mirage
with no thought of what the quest harms.
Do we consider what else could be
if we had a much higher cause?
There’s so much we don’t have, potential is lost
because we are living at odds.
With the Jones we’re competing, and Nature depleting
as we swim through envy and strife.
Cuz we tied it to paper and took all the flavor
that should be the savor in life.

A large and lush bed,
Elegance surrounds you.
Everything is at your fingertips
Nothing is out of reach
You need not leave your bed.
One of the many beautiful and silent clones
will get you whatever you want.
It's possible to request the rooms to fit your
specific taste.
Whatever you want, whatever you need
can be delivered to you.
Become sluggish and drift into a sweet daze.
Into a trance, wander from room to room.
Get caught up in the numerous rooms and linger.
This hotel mind's not your idleness,
Stay within your rooms, lost in these thousands
of rooms.
Be comfortable,
Savor these moments,
seconds,
minutes,
hours,
days,
weeks,
months,
years,
decades,
Lifetime.
Nothing matters but you and your rooms.
Thus you'll be left to fiddle about.
Please enjoy.
You savor it...every last drop is bursting with intense flavor...
Your mouth is consumed with delight...
you are torn because you need more...
how will you get more?
Life is not the same with this craving...
You stagger along... seeking...wanting... for more...
