Premium MemberSmitten Alligator Falls In Love

He is too smitten, totally gaga said the African lioness queen.
I have tried to dissuade him, but I am not the kind to be mean.
Why is he in love with you? Asked her brother, male Lion.
Not sure, but he says if I do not reciprocate, he might be dy’n.

African queen watched the alligator serenade her in the garden.
He said “I cannot stop myself, so please my sappiness pardon.”
The lion pride scoffed, thinking he was a crazy animal at best.
You are so sweet, said the African Queen, but here is the real test.

Can you run down the antelope? Can you catch the old ones?
Can you stay out of the way of the sharpshooter’s guns?
The alligator did not lie, so he shook his head sadly and left.
Feeling defeated, despondent and a teensy bit bereft.

Premium MemberConvince Me

Convince me I am wrong to assume
You only mean for me the best,
For I am prone to believe your words
In them your intentions seem manifest.

Holding feelings very close to my chest
Your compliments inspire me to excel,
Yet sometimes I sense vainglorious praise
And an insincere sappiness, I can’t tell.

Convince me I am right to presume
You only mean for me the best,
And I shall continue to receive your words
Believing your intentions in them manifest.

Premium MemberTrust Me Baby This Is Love

At dusk, his eyes, dark brown. At once I melt.
Again, and yet again, with each sweet kiss.
Bright stars! He’s asked to marry me. He knelt,
With “trust me baby this is love,” in this

Romantic place of time and space. Knees weak.
A vestal moon shades blush this pale white dove.
His breath abates. He yearns for me to speak.
His heart’s been tossed inside the brig of love.

I wont to keep facade of logic’s sense,
But sky’s alight with truth and sappiness.
His “trust me baby this is love” intense.
His dusk dark browns lean into happiness.

Oh twilight moon! My beau is turning blue!
A crimson crescent smile exhales, “I do!”

Premium MemberSappiness Like Syrup

SAPPINESS LIKE SYRUP

fire and ice do battle in our nation
politicking in a clash of thought

droughts of desperation
keep our havens burning

shoulder blizzards frozen white,
why can’t our weather get along?

where’s the rain to make us strong?
and warm quilts sewn with wrinkled hands?

if we strive to cross the arctic freeze:
will God stomp out impassioned southern fires,

melt northern snow, applaud a creation
of hands circling our united globe?

of this i dream! snowballs flung
with lighthearted smiles, fires baking
apple pies, sappiness like syrup.

Friends Or More

I have so many keys,
But the only one I want is the one to your heart.

I would swim the seven seas,
So we'd never have to be apart.

I no longer need the sun,
Because your smile lights up my universe.

I'd like to believe you're the one,
But you'd probably go in reverse.

I don't care if we're friends or more,
I just want you in my life.

Because without you my heart would be sore,
As if it were stabbed with a knife.

I guess what I'm trying to say
Is I just wish you happiness.

And I hope you stay
Despite all this sappiness.

Burnt

Scorched, alone, I stand ensconced, waiting for a sign,
watching moonlight’s flight at night, looking for what’s mine,
I’ll scour stars for paths to take, and slake my thirst for fun,
resentment stains my brain with pain, yet I am left with one,
more score to settle, burning blazes barricade my heart,
and sappiness’ cool caresses won’t succinctly start,
to put out fires from my misplaced ire at its source,
I’m stuck with burning bridges, at their ridge is my remorse.

Premium MemberA Friendship

You made me smile and knew my thoughts
Words need not to be spoken for they were caught.

We listened to each other very carefully
We hung on each and every thought prayerfully.

We shared laughter and tears--those were real
Summoning up a special bond that gave us zeal.

Life's drama unfolded when this bond was broken,
Sadly, oh so sadly we drifted apart unspoken.

My wishes for you are in those dreams you dream.
May you endure your troubles and go upstream.

My prayers for you are your happiness,
to have enough to keep your sappiness.

I will always be your friend until the end.
Always a smile for you...

Shadow Man

All in the dark
All in the loneliness
Lives a man
Whom is known as the Shaow Man

He sleeps with an empty stomach
He lives with a broken heart
He shuts his mouth, afraid to speak
Every night, he re-lives his tragedies
He cries every second, of everyday

Everyone has some knowledge of Shadow Man
And no one wants to be near him
Yet, if you look to his left, you will see a woman
When you spell her name, it is spelled K-I-A-R-A
She is called Shadow Woman

She lurks in her sappiness
She can't remember her happiness
She feels her pain, everyday
She wishes for it to go away
She rarely talks, afraid of emberessment
She locked her heart with chains
The gold key; never found

So, when you trek in the darkness
And you feel a hand reach at you
As you look down, you see her face
And his next to hers
Grab their hands
And share your warmth
