Smitten Alligator Falls In Love
He is too smitten, totally gaga said the African lioness queen.
I have tried to dissuade him, but I am not the kind to be mean.
Why is he in love with you? Asked her brother, male Lion.
Not sure, but he says if I do not reciprocate, he might be dy’n.
African queen watched the alligator serenade her in the garden.
He said “I cannot stop myself, so please my sappiness pardon.”
The lion pride scoffed, thinking he was a crazy animal at best.
You are so sweet, said the African Queen, but here is the real test.
Can you run down the antelope? Can you catch the old ones?
Can you stay out of the way of the sharpshooter’s guns?
The alligator did not lie, so he shook his head sadly and left.
Feeling defeated, despondent and a teensy bit bereft.
