Salon Poems

The Espresso Salon

He’s behind the bar,
polishing glasses
like they’re his last remaining purpose.

“I know things!” he insists.
“I watch Question Time!
I once bought quinoa by accident!”

He pours stout
with the weight of centuries.
Tries to explain The Bell Jar
like it’s a limited-edition craft IPA.

You raise a brow,
sip espresso
from a flamingo-shaped chalice,
and summon Virginia Woolf.

She floats in —
half disapproval, half divine fog

Premium MemberThe Medusa's At the Hair Salon

Mr. and Mrs. Medusa
Put their huge hats on their heads
To constrain their hair that always
Looks like they just got out of bed

They drove off to the hair salon
Even though they remembered
That when her mom asked long ago
For a trim, she got dismembered

Hey mister, said the stylist
If you are here to be groomed
With all that

Premium MemberMore Than a Hair Salon Widower

I'm loathe to agonize, but it's an issue guys!
Some cash wafts heaven sent, but spoils like excrement!
It's shops long hours that stink (are driving me to drink!)
I sit home long retired. She's younger, art inspired;
she loves her work's deft strokes on hair for gals (YES! BLOKES!)
Immediate cut's praise (while poet waits for days!
I drown in

Memories of the Salon

He said what he had to say
to tell the story
He did what he had to do
to rescue time
He paid what he had to pay
to bribe the jailers
He gave what he had to give
—per Gertrude Stein

The Salon of Forbidden Thought

The Salon of Forbidden Ideas
is a place where the free-thinkers go
to express their unsanctioned opinions
and explore what they aren't meant to know...

At twilight, they slip through the shadows
of the alley 'twixt Far-Left and Right,
wearing black masks and cloaks of red satin,
bearing lanterns of unfiltered light.

The door to the salon is fastened
with various fashions of locks---
each

The Beauty Salon Adventure

Oh! My gosh. What is it with the girly girl
Adventure?
They say looking great is a lure
To capture
An amore. To me that's a whole other
Venture.
I am such an amateur.
I am not looking for any more pressure.
Now on to the brochure
Which supposedly has the beauty cure.
Their prices are not high on expenditures
It features
Hair cut to

Le Salon De Coiffure

Mon Dieu she shrieked, I watched him standing there,
Beneath the Gogh, the suit was Weatherill.
He sipped cognac (Eden de Gautier)
And on his arm some filly from Brazil.
You heard, of course, poor dear, she knew the drill.
What must she think: her dress, she wore Chanel,
The shoes, Vuitton, I thought were overkill
But then she smiled; I swear

Michael's Salon of Pits

People often say now I understand
When they hear that I'm from Paree
Not Gay Paree silly, but redneck
In the heart of Tennessee

I am the newest style of hairdressers
Here to lay out all the facts
I no longer work on the tops of heads
But straight out of the pits

It all happened when I got bored
With the every day

Jellystone Salon

Be bear aware
Be prepared
Bring bear spray
And a nail file, too

In case you see the bruin
And she wants you to style her hair
And while you're at it
You can give her a pedicure, too.

Claire's Hair Salon

Don't come here but please go there
For this is what I have to share
About our dear hairdresser Claire.
She'll never catch you in a snare
Because her prices are more than fair.

She will cut your hair layer by layer
And will not let your head go bald or bare
So there is no glare for us to stare
And she

Salon

Vanity spewing unchecked to an unwillingly captive audience
"I am this and I did that", "look at me, me, me"!
"Make me pretty, I am pretty, I am aren't I"?

Maybe I am just tired or tainted
or just possibly because I am bald by choice
probably.

So much time spent on words without value
time that will never be retrieved
a seemingly

A Day At the Puppy Salon

I'm off to the puppy salon,

to get pampered and spoiled today,

all my pup smell will be gone,

my mom, says she likes it better that way,

they will fluff and dematt,

not sure I'll love that,

but then I'll be loving,

that warm bubble bath,

my groomer will trim me all up,

in a perfect lil pup cut,

she'll trim my nails, and
