The Elves Are Waving

It’s coming,
the tinsel train with its seasonal
non-tax declaring elves.
Of course they wave to us merrily,
of course we smile
push kids in front of us
as they seek Santa.

Not far now
the North Pole is at the back of the store
where Saint Nicholas keeps his secret stash
of whisky and weed.

We want to believe this is really happening
and that this magical moment
will live in a child’s-mind forever,

but no,

the kids just want to grab something
then run along more glittering tracks,
tickets held tight in small fists
on to the next promotional grotto
and another photographed event.

St. Nicholas was a right merry ol’ soul
Making children happy was his entire life's goal,
With a pack full of toys
For all good girls and boys
For centuries, his dedication we extol.

I've been informed by very reliable sources on which I do rely,
That Jolly old Saint Nicholas, who is a very accommodating guy,

Will be delivering a generous supply of toilet tissue to everyone in need!
(Don't be alarmed to find that on Christmas Morn your tree has been TPeed!)

That you let us know of your fear
You refuse to listen

Although it is only rain, dear!

Premium Member What I Want For Christmas- -

Truth be told
I no longer want deaths and wars
Come part the horizon, Jesus
Christ come now to receive us

If there were a Santa I want only just to know his true origin
What I want for Christmas, love and freedom

Twas just a mist, history insist
The Legend of St. Nicholas
Give me thoughts of prayers
To pray for my fellow humans

If there were a Santa I want only just to know his true origin
What I want for Christmas, is for Jesus to come down

Lo O’ fourth-century bishop
Monk named St. Nicholas
Born sometime around 280 A.D.
In Patara, near Myra in modern-day Turkey

If there were a Santa I want only just to know his true origin
What I want for Christmas is for Saint Nicholas to pray with me
Admired for his piety and kindness,
Of many legends called also Father Christmas
You can meet Santa Claus cross the magical Arctic Circle
In Rovaniemi in Lapland, Finland official
You see if there be a Santa, all I want from him
Is to pray for me, for Christ to grant me longevity of life…
Now what do you want for Christmas in this life

Premium Member My Christmas Angel

Sweet as Christmas candy cane
She takes away my pain

Embellishes low spirts
Then she’ll crystallise the rain

With care, wraps up my anguish
Topped off with festive bow

Ensures there’s room within her inn
When I have no place to go

She jingles my bells when I’m going through hell

turns my tears into to snow flakes
With her jovial spell

Illuminates darkness with twinkling lights
embraces me warmly When Jack Frost bites

She’s a gift of the very highest degree
My Angel
My star
Adorning my tree

The most precious of baubles
Such a Yuletide time cracker
She can loose herself in this seasonal Chatter

She disperses my worries
and breaks them all down

They don’t seem so huge
As they fall to the ground

Like a magical snow globe
She shakes up my sadness

She’s my sparkling tinsel
and fills me with gladness

My dearest of friends who I treasure so deeply

Always thinking of others
and sings oh so sweetly

The tune of this heavenly holy night
Sprinkling hope as saint Nicholas takes his flight.

Premium Member Just a Little Jingle

JUST A LITTLE JINGLE

Just a little jingle, from old Kris Kringle.
Urgent that his knees, bend before the King.
Saint Nicholas shares the beauty of gifts
That become all the more radiant in angel-song.

Alleluia Alleluia Alleluia - adoration of the Bethlehem Babe.

Lovingly the infant stirs, the earth responds with mirth.
In this curse it shares with mankind’s sorrow.
The arms of Christ restrained in swaddle,
Though he longs to throw them deep and wide.
Love will soon be hammered to a tree — a symphony.
Everyone will see, all eyes surged with sensation.

Merry for this moment,
Eager in rejoice —
Reverence to the Creator’s crown.
Relieved from Him for a time to serve us.
Your holiday present — Christ’s everlasting presence.

Jolly Old Saint Nicholas

Who's the big fat reddest suit
the children shout excited.
Who'll take presents from his bag
and hand them proof enlighted.

Who shouts ho
fat ho fat ho
Laughs for children
brash and brough.

Cracks the whip of Christmas Spirit
Beckons kids to sit and stare at.
Fuels the weir for Christmas wishes.
and calls communion Saint Nick Merrit.

JOLLY OLD SAINT NICHOLAS

Christmas Is Blind

Christmas time is for the rich
When it comes to buying presents
Christmas time for the poor
Is being with their parents
Christmas time today has lost its reason
Saint Nicholas would turn in his grave
For Christmas today is tantamount to treason
Its all about the rich getting richer
Christmas should be all about giving
Every year I fill a box with peace and love
Christmas greetings it is signed, with a note
The contents of this box is for you to share
At Christmas time with all the world
The rich and the needy, sadly you'll find
The needy greedy and the rich are blind
But hey, its Christmas time be happy
And don't wait for Christmas to spread
Peace and love, for there, might never be
Another next time, happiness is
For every day, not just Christmas!

Merry Christmas Friends and Family

Merry Christmas friends and family
It's the breaking of the dawn
I can see that Santa's been here
By the hoof prints on the lawn

See where the sleigh has landed
And the weighted big boot track
Caused by old Saint Nicholas
With his sack upon his back

Presents children wished for
When they sat upon his knee
Have magically appeared
Underneath the Christmas tree

I hope he came to your house too
With his reindeer and his sleigh
Hope you got all that you wished for
Underneath the tree today

Winter N 2 Spring

You could see your breath in the air
Felt toasty in leather gloves and woolen coat
The earth's floor hardened, carpeted in fluffy white
And "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas" chimed from your throat

Counted down as the ball dropped in Times Square
Sweet hearts for the sweetheart you did declare
Danced a jig adorned in green, will do the Bunny Hop soon
And the snap is all but gone from the air

A rainbow of buds have begun to peek from the ground
with speckles of curious green in between
The trees are blossoming as birds perch on limbs,
chirping a morning song to the pastel painted scene

The golden sun becomes shadowed by grey clouds
showers assure that nature doesn't need a drink
The sun reappears, the air smells fresh and full of promise
I guess the seasons change quicker than an eye can blink

Premium Member Trembles and Thrills Santa Is Here

Somewhere out there
The world is all in slumber
Prayers have been said
Tears have been shed
Where people care waiting for a miracle

Sitting in the window seat
Cozy and warm by the fireplace
I listening to the soft crackling sound
Of golden amber fire

Waiting and looking out the window at the falling snow
Impatiently watching the cloud migrate slowly across the sky
A hidden moon back-lit a large cloud, fringing it with silver
Thrill waiting so long as patience can endure, a lifetime it seems

A soft whine and nudge with a cold wet nose to my face
Startling me to wake with a fright
With the hair on the back of my neck standing upright
As I tremble and brace myself with unutterable shock

Curiosity impelled me to move forward
Drawing nearer made me gasped
With trembles and thrills
Gazing upon shadows movement and the sounds of crunching

Near the fireplace in a high wing-back chair
Sat Old Saint Nicholas holding a cup of hot cocoa
Snacking on the cookies I had left
Listening to the music play “Jolly Old St. Nicholas”

TREMBLES AND THRILLS - Poetry Contest
Sponsored by: Olive Eloisa Guillermo

Jolly Old Saint Nicholas

Jolly Old St. Nicholas, grey hair, baldy man
A jingle with a twisted cane, see me if you can
Silver long haired beard, red nose, rosy golden cheeks
Giddy-up old St. Nicholas, won't you hurry please!

When the clock strikes twelve pm, on a darkest night
Driving the lonely streets, please turn on your lights.
My big house is decorated, wreaths and ornaments too,
May your blessings come your way, all your dreams come true

Bronson wants a pair of shoes, Brandy wants a shirt
As for me, you know what I want, hope he's not a flirt.

Jolly old St. Nicholas, send me a nice young man
I don't want to be no fool, just to hold someone's hand.
