Winter N 2 Spring
You could see your breath in the air
Felt toasty in leather gloves and woolen coat
The earth's floor hardened, carpeted in fluffy white
And "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas" chimed from your throat
Counted down as the ball dropped in Times Square
Sweet hearts for the sweetheart you did declare
Danced a jig adorned in green, will do the Bunny Hop soon
And the snap is all but gone from the air
A rainbow of buds have begun to peek from the ground
with speckles of curious green in between
The trees are blossoming as birds perch on limbs,
chirping a morning song to the pastel painted scene
The golden sun becomes shadowed by grey clouds
showers assure that nature doesn't need a drink
The sun reappears, the air smells fresh and full of promise
I guess the seasons change quicker than an eye can blink
