“You never forget that someone special, who melted your heart like molten metal.”Quote- Poet’s own
I hear your voice and tears rundown again
When birds sing us their sweet morning refrain
As babbling brooks flow and soft breezes blow
Time goes by slowly and I miss you so.

I see you in stars glittering brightly
When the two of us were young and sprightly
In the splendour of moonlight romancing
With the both of us joyfully dancing.

I feel the touch of your hand held in mine
Our embrace too exquisite to define
The sweet kiss from lips that made my heart flip
The ecstasy and the bliss of courtship.

I cherish moments that stood still in time
Such as the day we heard wedding bells chime
Without you this life simply isn’t the same
I hear your voice and tears rundown again.

RUNDOWN

Never once a thank you.
Not one time was I told; I've done good.
Did I ever get a compliment?
Or compensation like I should.

At no time have u even,
Stopped to tell me it'll be ok.
You've yet to hold me while I cry;
And wipe my tears away.

Love doesn't last forever.
If neither fans passion's flames.
The fire burns out quietly.
Leaving only the ashes that remain.

What I did, I did for love.
I had no expectations.
Just a pat on my back would've healed it all,
Instead, I got condemnation.

“In a rundown, the runner is in a pickle that could become a rhubarb.” ~ by poet

Rundown.
He's trapped between
bases being pursued
by the fielders who glibly smile
because they know they have the advantage,
to perhaps overtake and tag
the beleaguered runner,
to foil the run.
Rundown.

Quote: "The ruins show that this castle was magnificent once"--Indian idiom

In the ruins of a castle, a tale unfolds,
A story of beauty, where history molds.
Rundown remnants whisper secrets untold,
Of a lady with smiles, enchanting and bold.

Once she graced halls in her youth,
A love story sparked, a flame in truth.
With time, the melodies aged like fine wine,
Yet, love endured, a vintage divine.

Through changing seasons, our hearts intertwined,
Spring's bloom to autumn's decline.
In winter's chill, roots held firm and cold,
Never rundown, a love story to be retold.

Vibrant life once, now marked by age,
Yet, a resilient spirit on history's page.
Though the body may falter, and time takes its toll,
The charm persists, a timeless soul.

As the castle crumbles, and walls decay,
Love's echo lingers, it will not sway.
In the rundown echoes of a once mighty tower,
A resilient love, an enduring flower.

Premium MemberThe Rundown Building

there is an open door in a rundown building
with peeling green paint on the walls
and worn wooden steps going up
into the darkness . . .
many garbage cans are overflowing
and I see lots of broken liquor bottles on the ground
also a child's broken pink bike has been discarded
and there seem to be hundreds of cigarette butts littering
I am shocked to see a needle syringe at my feet
then, an old lady in rags is passing
with a shopping cart full of junk
and greets me politely, "Hello, Miss, God Bless!"

A Rundown Mansion

A Run Down Mansion

Were I able to speak through a breeze,
I would tell of the youth I have seen;
Through my cracks and kemtoned paper,
They were just eighteen.

Neath dappled shadowed oaks,
They giggled and trailed the sidewalks of evening,
To the old drug store for chocolate sodas,
Swiveling stools and cute soda jerks.

The fare tasted so much better then,
Ham and cheese, eggs over easy, and scents,
Scents of Bokar and hot grease…but I
I cannot speak nor stroll.

I could only wait and embrace
And comfort the too soon married;
With hope they will remember when they tarried,
In an old and creaky yesterday mansion.
