This a poem out to praise the balanced nature of love
Love is a square square.
a balanced thing,
fair when it gives,
fair in the take.
Equal of measure,
for my sweet sake,
no condemnation,
Only praise we bring.
No imbalance
in this perfect ring.
For each bruise he gave,
Let flowers grow in heaven,
For her to rest on.
The short daylight hours, winter roses blossoming, everlasting smell .
The First Frost
Chill whispers at dusk,
Under snow's silent blanket,
Blue petals shimmer.
The Magical Bloom
Moonlight touches ice,
A single rose glows azure-
Magic in the cold.
The Winter Fairy Appears
Tiny wings flutter,
Silver spark in frozen air,
She seeks blue wonder.
Protector of the Rose
Frost fairy hovers,
Guarding the rare, fragile bloom,
Breath of winter's heart.
A Wish in Snow
Softly she whispers,
"Bloom through the season's sorrow,
Bring hope to the ice."
The Rose Responds
Magic fills the night,
Blue rose opens to the stars,
Winter dreams awake.
A Promise of Spring
Fairy and flower
Hold the secret of the thaw-
Life returns with hope.
symbol of contrast
like Noah's ark in harsh storm
captivation norm
endurance am I
alluring in mountains rest
winters embrace test
integrated light
across wild echoes stoic
exudes pure stillness
delicate yet tough
unassailable maiden
artists awed humming
alchemists delight
aligned with capricorn's might
pristine determined
raw unadorned self
expresses inner kingdom
nourishes itself
secrets in dark roots
poison perceptual moot
duality hoots
sacrifice and faith
face adversity with grace
revelation brace
with each unclasping
petals open mystical
surrender holding
scent nascent nadir
sacred self-preservation
authentic profound
quiet verdict holds
love is not parasitic
terrifying peace
contemplate christmas
quest each due ecstatic depth
silent witness bear
so do I exist
cold thorns after each snow dawn
god's love not forlorn

Winter Roses
Bite of bitter blues
Winter’s wanton gloomy ghost
Haunts the Halls of Hope
This chill kills, no frills
This frozen frost, crispy feet
Wish I was inside
Wish you were beside
Christmas lights to smile and see
Memories don't fade
Green is painted white
Blooms hide, bulbs stir, life moves on
All except your rose
Each year at this time
She appears here to remind
Beauty still surrounds
Wild, you warm my heart
Colour of snow yet glowing
Love lingers on leaves
How I miss you, Rose
Your smile that nature adopts
Still the flower grows
Another winter
Another year of absence
Rest peacefully child
The roses you gave
in the summer of our youth
I tried all to save.
They spoke of the truth
of the love you had for me
as sweet as vermouth.
You even teased me
that I’d soon throw them away--
I did not agree.
Now I’m old and gray,
in the winter of my years,
I can only say:
I kept the flowers--
Though dry, they still bear a trace
Of the love that’s ours.

Winter Roses - Mystic 11-8-25
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Winter Roses
white winter roses
amid the wrath of blizzards ~
born in summer wombs
seeds baptized by rain
birthed in warm breaths of sunlight ~
autumnal surprise
frosty solstice queen
dressed in a gown with sequins ~
winks with aurora
pink frost party dress
hues of jewel tones glitter ~
cold winter thriller
magical snowbells
descendants of vernal joy ~
wears chilly bloomers
peppermint ice roams
with soft pompoms like snowballs ~
stays to kiss springtime
polestar spreads her seeds
as tempest breath turns sultry ~
artic roses sleep
mystical flower
a rose blooms at the manger ~
yuletide miracles
Frost stains window panes
Roses dream of summer sun~
Life hides in the ground.
The garden sleeps deep
Rose stalks turn brown in the snow~
Dry leaves pine with pain
A flicker of hope
By the porch, almost hidden~
Rose leaves, dark and tough.
A stubborn red bud
Firmly fights the frost’s cold grip~
A small, silent plea.
A dusting of white
Coats the tight bud, frozen firm ~
Beauty held in ice.
A sudden warm spell
Snow melts, a glistening tear~
Rose bud stirs awake.
Winter rose unfurls,
A splash of coloUr so bright~
A foil against snow.
The gardener smiles,
A small miracle unfolds~
Life in darkest days.
A fragile splendour,
A reminder, even now~
Beauty is transient.
The winter rose fades,
But seeds of courage remain~
Promise for the spring.
through snowflakes adrift
sunset remnant rays filter…
broken dreams enshrined
these morph into leaves
cradle rose in frost’s silence…
yearning sapling still
blush of winter rose
dances to arctic wind’s tune…
cold fire not yet doused
thorns in iced lattice
mesh of promise for lone rose…
pink hope unfrozen
in pallid sunrise
fading shine clings to petals…
wilted form complete
from crypt of winter
bud returns from cold in spring…
rhapsodic rose blooms
forty years ago,
first time I saw snow roses
cute winter roses
on a tall mountain
covered by so heavy snow
unexpected sight
field of pink roses
on that very nice white snow
in front of my eyes
so lovely white grains
on so lovely pink roses
beautiful impressed
I once stood with you
in the lush summer's garden
where roses bloomed red
we also blossomed
when love was new, untested
underneath warm sun
we could laugh at time
as the days sped quickly by
we were forever
but days would not last
we could not grasp them closely
time took our laughter
a rose may bloom once
then its petals fade and fall
as winter winds chill
like winter roses
we became a memory
of warm summer love
Pure white wintertime roses
Unblemished by frost
When sprinkled with snow
They reflect every sunrise
Symbolic of hope
These flower of peace
Possessing dark undertones
Yet outwardly pure
11 / 5 / 2025.
real winter roses
peeking through the winter snow~
unexpected prize
white, pink, purple, black
oft displayed at Christmas time~
joining poinsettias
nature's unique gift
a genus of evergreen~
offering roses
Frost-kissed petals bloom
In moonlight's silver embrace
Love defies the cold
Your ghost walks these paths
Where winter roses still grow
Secrets in the snow
I touch velvet blooms
Each thorn a memory sharp
Beauty and the pain
Mystic flowers call
Through seasons of longing, wait
Spring lives in your eyes
