Riot Act Poems | Examples

Zip Your Mouth

A fly on the wall,
overhearing a parent
chastise their teenage child

Shut up, when you hear me
laying down the law
No back talking ...
keep it quiet, yo
Don't wanna hear no squawking

When the riot act is being read,
silence must prevail I'm afraid
Don't wanna hear a peep ...
hold your tongue, yo
Say nothing, unless I say speak

Zip your mouth
Give me the sign:
two fingers running across your lips
Nod your head
north to south
Written words I don't mind
But be careful, you're only getting this one tip ---
When I'm righting your wrong,
keep your mouth zipped
No verbal pardon forthcoming this time,
so zip your mouth ...
unless you're willing to confess to your crime

The Story Told - Free Fall

Trouble filling up a glass
halfway spilt
destined to dismantle
a seeping mind
thought once to be one of a kind
but lately left behind
books beaming with success
slipping off her dress
uncovering secrets hidden deep
making me weep

knowledge known to make a man
but too much gets you the frying pan
when whispers are told
about growing old
maid in a minute
a minuet in triple time anyway you spin it
you think we cant tell
oh go to hello
in your cap just another feather
let's talk about the weather

a lion lying upon the rough rock
thoughts only of a twisted clock
guarding the den
of iniquity then
read the riot act
lost in a book of facts
don't lie
goodbye
yellow brick road
the story's been told

W et whispers.
I Intensified.
T angled poppets controlled by lust and love.
H ermetically sealed and pact, within you, forever loved.

B reath taking, leaving behind love in respiratory tract.
E mbrace, loving impact, created by physical act.
A lways rolling over,in my arms, after accomplished act.

The Disastrous Traffic Stop

The Disastrous Traffic Stop

By Elton Camp

To pull over quickly Robert didn’t fail
Just as soon as he saw a cop on his tail
“Sir, you exceeded the speed limit, I fear.
That is the reason I pulled you over here.”

Robert gave the office a sheepish grin
“My radar detector wasn’t plugged in.
Hey, man, you have to be on the take.
Shouldn’t a cop be in better shape?”

The cop said, “Hand your license here.”
“I can’t reach it unless you hold my beer.”
As the riot act the mad cop to Robert read:
“You too dumb for McDonald’s instead?”

The cop then asked why he drove so fast
“A well-patrolled area I was trying to get past.”
And I was also running pretty far behind
For my crack delivery the boss did assign.”

“You’re not going to check the trunk are you?
If so, then of being courteous I am through.”
“Hey, is your rod a nine millimeter gun?
This 44 magnum in my hand is more fun.”

I Slept With a Female Mosquito - Part Iv

I Slept with a Female Mosquito – part IV

I have gone gnats!
My residual blood is boiling and bubbling
Whole frame sweltering and shuddering
Discolored rage – lend me some wrath
Should I or should I not,
Read her the riot act?
Does she know me any well –
A P.S now; been senator
Been governor, been chief, been prompt
In every cabinet
A minister here, a commissioner there
A chairman here, a spokesman there
A director here, Acting vice president
Do you know the cost of my person?
To accost fester and feast!
Madam Ambassador, speak for your people
The swarm is listening, whiz
That’s the envoy’s mark, man
Unswerving agenda, schemata
Trade, communiqué, summit, matrimony, prospects
Bilateral rep, the diplomatic proxy
Speak for them, gnat
State your mission, miss.
