Rinky Dink Poems | Examples

Premium Member ink's strange health effects

Hegseth’s hateful inked tattoos stink
Women all know he's rinky-dink
As his antidote
He’ll rescind girl’s vote
But undressed now Peter does shrink

Questionable

ever really knowing
if I'm coming or going
meanwhile
what am I to do with you
as somewhat akin
under the skin
yet now quite skint
but taking a sprint
and just for fun
making a dummy run
if I may say
it's leave or stay
quite the conundrum
of all things the sum
but when it's said and done
of the be and end-all none
for should you ever think of me
tho' unruly I could be
there's more to life than this
and banter's what I truly miss
not so much the rinky-dink
as everything including the kitchen sink

Premium Member Aliens Confused by English Gibberish

What is that gizmo on your head?
Little doodad his son quickly said
Is it a whatchamacallit or a rinky dink?
Whatever you want Daddy, whatever you think.

The pool-side aliens who had been listening were trying to decipher
Words that made no sense, like vacuum, dust, and diaper
Gizmo? Doodad? Rinky Dink?
Do we have the right planet, do you think?
Let’s find an easier language to study,
said the Captain Little Buddy.

Stuck In the Rain

Dodging raindrops
like bullets
like sheets
glass shatters
as it downpours
on this old General Store

Tin roof tinking
in mud
feet sinking
flowers in pots
old rinky dink carts
waiting for a jump start
hiding in the car

A stranger watches from afar
the phone rings and rings
a distant bird sings
rain pelting windshields
staring at green fields
someone stops
finally
some help

By Mystic Rose and Robert James Liguori

When the sun goes down on this hillbilly town
I will meet you there where the stars never frown
Down in the valley where the trees breathe easy
you and I will walk the sea slow, then easy-peasy
and as your arm encircles me I will whisper poetry

Roses in full bloom in a magical night of romance
we together as one two tender petals hand in hand
rolling towards the wispy winds like a lovers dance
Then with precision we will write in the sultry sand
the truthful words of our destined, happenchance

When the whispering is through, I'll belong to you
as the paint on a palomino foal is golden new
our love together will glisten true
And then, getting in my rinky-dink truck
we'll ride back to town, while the sun comes up

(A COLLABORATION WITH ROBERT LIGUORI )

Premium Member Ring a Ding Ding Ding

The rinky-dink ringmaster was a ringleader.
His yellow perched ring-tail cat had a ringside seat
His sassy ring-necked eagle had a ring meter.
His knowledge of Ring of Nibelung could not be beat.
He called his circus the Rinky-dink Ring-a-Ding-Ding-Ding.
We sat in ringside seats, staring at the first animal filled ring.
We are the Ring-A-Ding-Dongs, he said with a giant smile.
The ring-tail cat began to circle the crowd, intriguing us for a while.
The ring-necked eagle began to fly around the Ring-A-Ding tent.
Before it was over, I was on the edge of my seat, glad I had went.

Let My Anchor Hold

I heard old weather beaten sea Captains say Lord
Let my anchor hold as I lay my head down to sleep
For being a sailor isn't as easy as one would think.
My Lord takes care of me in my keep
From ending up a ground in a heap.
Thanks to instruments I pay attention to my vessel
Isn't likely to sink.
I heard old weather beaten sea Captains say Lord
Let my anchor hold as I lay my head down to sleep
For I am way out here where the water is deep.
Anything can happen in a wink or a blink.
My Lord takes care of me in my keep
As I watch the dolphins leap
I am in their water which isn't rinky dink.
I heard old weather beaten sea Captains say Lord
Let my anchor hold as I lay my head down to sleep
I need to make a living cause life isn't cheap.
Believe me when I say life is to short for me to
Make a mistake so coffee, tea, and water are all
I drink.
My Lord takes care of me in my keep
Safe from ships that pass me in the night as the fog
In does creep
I set my coffee mug on the counter-sink.
I heard old weather beaten sea Captains say Lord
Let my anchor hold As I lay my head down to sleep
My Lord takes care of me in my keep.

Apache Scalpel

I want to take a scalpel
And surgically remove countenance
I want to fire a chainsaw
And massacre fast food consciousness
Sever and slash rinky dink rememberance

If you want to honor the dead
Let's go dance on gravestones
Not forgetting the bodies lost in Vietnam jungles

I want to take a hatchet
And slice clean modern education
Remove all doubt
That this is not what knowledge is about

More to the point
Let's cut the electricity
Rewire the main hardware
Start over and begin from the beginning
Before Genesis colonized the mind
When pure babies lay in savannahs
And a bastion laid before our hands
Suddenly became awake
