Bulb
The bulb above me can
really see all
increases in
retail store prices ahead of
in time.
I don’t mind some wishes missed
From my lifelong bucket list -
Better world to coexist
Without war’s cold iron fist.
Truce not sold in retail store,
Ought to nurture it therefore,
Golden goal, no less no more -
Peace in 2024!
Ragtag faerie was born in the bowels of a retail store bin.
He dressed daily in whatever he wanted, which was not a sin.
One time he found a discarded sequined pink mermaid fin.
You look pretty foxy! Said his persnickety uptight all-together twin.
I am feeling my glory, I am in the best place, I guess, you can say.
He loved dressing up every night, and sleeping almost every day.
He and his twin after nine o’clock p.m. would get out items and play.
They loved the resale shop ever so much, and decided to stay.
During my childhood,
I played often with a
Muslim girl.
As a new high school
student,
a Muslim neighbor
then a senior student,
saved me from bullies.
One time in campus,
a Muslim friend paid
taxi fare on my behalf.
Every Friday evening,
a Muslim retail store offers
free maize flour
to the less fortunate.
If you ask me,
I've no problem with Muslims;
they are so compassionate
in nature.
The true spirit of the season
lies in the heart of giving.
The joy of helping others
makes life worth living.
The precious gift of love
doesn't come with boxes or bows.
In the sharing of oneself,
the true meaning shows.
Holiday cheer is not bought
from any retail store.
Sometimes it's the little things
that's worth so much more.
Carols sung with a sincere heart
fill the sky with peace.
While the season's prayers of love
cover the earth with charity's fleece.
