Put On The Line Poems | Examples

The Duel

The Gunslinger

You think I am ordinary he said
As he wiped the sweat from his head
I have done things I now dread
Where I made choices with the dead

So you see if you want to conquer me
It’ll take more than wanting it you see
Anti up and let’s see what you’ll put on the line
And know the outcome will not be kind

We stood and looked at each other
Waiting for the first move to discover
Who would win in the gun fight
I shot him dead with my concern being only slight.

Do you ever tell God that He is wrong?
I sure have
When I couldn’t get what I want
Because it was sold
I told Him that He is wrong
I said that He said I can have anything I want
If I set my mind to it
And it was sold
So there He is wrong
And guess what
I found the same thing at another store
What I wanted
So there my friend
Don’t be too quick of judging God
He will prove it to you pretty quickly
It’s easy said than done
When you are the one who is put on the line
Does God always give you what you want?
You bet
You just have to see for yourself
No use to convince ya
He does me
It may take a long time
But it will eventually come
You may give up
And call for emergency measure
And all the names He does not actually deserve
God the Impossible Guy
The unbelievable daunting
Unmovable stubbornness
A force to deal with
But a gentle Teddy Bear
When it comes to you
And your affair
I could never know Him
And I don’t think you can either
Because know Him
is to predict Him
And He is nowhere to predict
As He can be anywhere
Do anything
Exciting, right?
Lol
Okay I’ll let you think on this one

Your a Scum and Dirty Bum

Your very good at destroying
Young girls hearts who are enjoying
The attention that you give
But it is no way to live
When you control their every action
To fulfill the satisfaction
Of the men you share them with
Girls too young to know that this
Is not what love should really be
But they're confused and so lonely
Runaways that have nowhere
To go so you steal their
Innocence and make them think
You saved them all from the brink
Of living cold and alone
Pretending you'll give them a home
And as much care as they need
They're only helping you succeed
To make money every time
Their virtues put on the line
Your the worst scum of them all
Using girls so scared and small
I hope one day your found dead
With a bullet in your head
From someone trying to save
These girls from an early grave

Life’s Hues

Sliver of rainbow experiences slip through the cracks of memories hoard,
where all lives in the shadows of subconscious content, continues to be stored
until woven into a tapestry of a moment kissed, then into the conscious mind
where the essence, the colours, nationalities, come to light, whom to me where so kind.

Upon crystalized tear drops, beautiful colours, reflected hues refracted.
Fragmented elements of a checkered life so protracted,
leaves one to wonder why ???, and for what reasons ???,
has this life’s force been able to defeat the Grim Reaper, at his game, a dozen times.

This life’s force having seen so much of life’s changing Seasons,
and been guided by an unseen force, into writing so many rhymes,
of which some have been relatively good, but oh so sad
and many others, unquestionably, oh so bad !
This begs the question, why ?, has this life been put on the line
so many, many times and come out unscathed and doing just fine.

A Chance

AS I LOOK AT YOU FROM ACROSS THE ROOM
MY HEART BEATS FAST AND I KNOW IM DOOMED

NO MATTER WHAT MY MIND SAYS IT HAS ALREADY LOST
MY HEART NOW LEADS NO MATTER WHAT THE COST

I OPEN MYSELF UP TO HERT AND PAIN
TO CARE SO FAST IS SURELY INSANE

BUT NO MATTER WHAT I HAVE TO PUT ON THE LINE
MY HEART MUST REMAIN OPEN ONE LAST TIME

SEE IT BETTER TO LOVE AND TAKE THE CHANCE
THEN TO BE CLOSED,ALONE,AND WITHOUT ROMANCE

I WAS BLIND TO THE GOOD THINGS IN LIFE
AN IMPRISONED FEELING OF DOING WHATS RIGHT

THINKING ONLY OF OTHERS AND NEVER OF ME
MADE ME LONELY AND BITTER AND HOPELESS INDEED

TO TAKE A CHANCE AND TRY TO CARE AGAIN
ITS SCARY AS HELL AND MIGHT HURT IN THE END

BUT IT IS BETTER TO TRY AND HAVE FUN ALONG THE WAY
AT THE RISK OF BEING HURT AT THE END OF THE DAY

YOU SEE LIFE IS WHAT HAPPENS AS YOUR MAKEING OTHER PLANS
SO REMEMBER THAT LOVE AND RISK GO HAND IN HAND.
