NOT BASELESS IS
Not baseless is the ocean’s roar, the build up to that bass before
it all comes crashing into shore, foaming it draws back for more
I’m sure that there are high notes too, perhaps too high for our purview
but to the sound of rock and roll, I find that sea has taken soul
By Aaron Davis
Not voiceless is the ocean's roar, crescendo notes rise off the floor
it all comes waving on the shore, rising up to meet me at the door
I'm sure that there are treble clefs and flats but heh! what I adore,
is when Maestro strikes a pose, it makes my soul, begin to roar.

Steal a moment of leisure
Make a comfortable old style
Only willing to be a good looker
Long lasting wind and moon
Hoping sunrise to shine all day
Resting sunset bring good fortune
Today may a good breath release
Tomorrow our hope will trust life
Future lies in the horizon beacon
All our ambitions are innovation
Of thought provoking mind-boggling
Sigh of sights all shines in the heart.

All became purview in her constant gaze ~
eyes that followed, no matter my corner,
nor settee where fleur-de-lis begged recline ~
and, no peace was found in voyeuristic laze.
Even in the vestibule - through the door
she stares
~ her beauty lingers there and captures
daydreams that share this moment in time.
I wonder ~ did the artist love her too,
he, who captured every seductive line
of wanting eyes and impatient grin?
How can one wish they'd never met a painting
without knowing ~ lost love...

It's never planned to write another
But they always come, 'cause there's no other
Someone I would write these for
On you my tenderest thoughts do pour
When I think of you, the words then flow
My heart in literary glow
To try to dam the ballad spout
They'd only find a new way out
I want with my words to caress
Your heart with delicate finesse
To hug you through my writing pen
To kiss through verses, thoughts, and then
In one grand ode I'd say it all
How much I've loved you, long the haul
That this has been since I first knew
That it was there in full purview

Waiting, on release….
That time when your time is frozen still
But as you look out others still going about the mill
Waiting on a release
Mind racing trying to find peace
It’s time to move on but wait
All your thoughts tell you it’s getting late
The event is here, yet it’s on pause
Now you think about weather there was a hidden clause
Patience is a virtue
Even more so when the time is just in purview
Jailed in time
Free in mind

Axis of my mind, body, thoughts, feelings,
Fears, emotions, passions, friendly dealings;
My spirit incorporates each feature,
Of my being as an earthly creature...!
Thinks, feels, motivates, manipulates,
It stands above all predetermined fates;
Life, resolve, awareness and thought pattern,
All preserved in its purview for certain...!
Created in God's likeness and image,
Within undergoes awful scrimmage;
The atman enlivening the body,
Are you in my lungs? Or in heart noddy...?
Whatever it might be; or however;
The times resurrect sometimes or never;
Spirit lives on; will live; like sap in leaves;
Joy fills the heart of anyone believes...!

a decade ago, I picked up water colors and acrylics
O the exuberance of being a first-time artist
Who, in myriad poverty of apartheid, scorned art
As the purview of those living in luxury
Yet I was spending five hours on painting crosses with doves
Celebrating Jesus and the Holy Spirit
Then too, in 2012, my heart and art suffered loss
As substitute teacher for a week, Montgomery County
Maryland (School district, at Greencastle school)*$*
I took my newest African themed art, and my Lilacs
At week's end, I rushed off with many items to car
Forgot my precious art (one titled Xhabbo, "Bushman")
The regular teacher knew nothing of the African pieces
Only my lilacs and odd floral efforts were returned
I hope I can both forgive and forget; travel has cost
Art and some precious belongings abandoned or lost
NOTE *$*
The young students enjoyed the sharing of art; they were truly inspired and it does make up for the loss in some ways. Future artists got new topics. Shalom, shalom. Deo (Dec 1st, 2021)

Born in giftedness of innate purview,
Tending him like tender scion, is vital.
Send him to play, work isn't his battle.
Never let school, for him, be accidental,
Ergo, let's earn his souvenir from this review.

Choices form towards our preordained trajectory
Decision built bricks stack factors progressively
Circumstancial pegs compile in accord to faculty
Dogmas of downtrodden clogged with profanity
Circles run rings around predictions, an equator
Divides same from same in symmetrical centre
Cogs who push their neighbours never blame us
Duration in environ expidited by wheel's impetus
Certainty occurs, journey obscured from turning
Decorum's shield prohibits peripheral discerning
Contingent coddles confederates, cave sedation
Dictated picture is droll pattern of premeditation
Character patter converses with class conducive
Dialogue delays, latitudinal liberal splay spruking
Concious diverges in a dual carriageway purview
Deliberation channels hairpin 's curve impromptu

I awoke this morning to see huge
white snowflakes falling to the ground –
an unusual sight to see in the area where I live.
Such a beautiful sight.
I had to go out and play, pretending I was filling the bird feeders.
The flakes dropped exceedingly slowly – lasted only a moment as they fell to earth.
I took the moment to reflect how
life’s moments are like these snowflakes –
most only fleetingly pass through our minds without sticking –
not particularly remarkable as they vanish from our purview.
Should we stop and pay more attention to those moments?
We may be missing something quite extraordinary.

Lord! 'As You prosper me,' grant that I share from these gifts
though my lifetime's foreshortened from what could be mine
if I chose not to share, dreamt all wealth 'just deserts.'
May prosperity's plague not descend like a curse
on my kith and my kin, who I'd see own your Grace
(not just trade for a favor), extending Your will
and all life be a blessing as life groks it's blessed!
Give us hearts born to share, that aren't slaves to excess.
Lord! You request we stay humble, see 'good,' as life shifts
on planes out of our purview! Humility's shine
found in actions or trembling? Is one who exerts
will, who waits for Your leading, (in faith) risk-averse?
Was love given by others how Christ saw Your Face
when He felt at His lowest, His flesh on Earth still?
Place my pride in your guidance, my sin that’s confessed
Make my joy hate’s frustration, our world Christ’s success!

The rattling clamor of empty beds,
beautiful echoes in memories of those who tamed
the shrieking iron steeds coaxed
along the rails of time, now sit in silence -
out to pasture rusting, and like the bones of life
return to dust
The hiking trails that fill the void
through quiet country forests -
along the beds where the mute trod and trip,
peripheral attention more easily managed
than on the rocky root strewn trails.
There is no space for flora and fauna
beyond their phones intoxicating glare,
and the silence that consumes all thought
within its purview -
no memories of value in their wake,
just faces lost within the texts
as the rattling clamor sits void and still...
inspired by the Sounds of Silence contest - not entered

How far I have come to meet you
Your ambition lies beneath your purview
How have you been, my old friend
Trapped, waiting for this torture to end
Tell me all about yourself, I ask of you
You're hard to trust, I construe
Trust me, for this time I will not deceive you
You can't deceive me, even if you try to
Then tell me who exactly are you
I am what you always knew
Veiled by your complaisant being
I hear you could make the sun rise, and the birds sing
I am no conqueror, I haven’t what you seek
You are the dawn to my perpetual bleak
It’s someone else you fancy, now leave me be
But we are one, can’t you see?
Let’s be together and set you free
Like we have in the past, haven’t we?
In a corner, you left me stranded
It wasn’t me; it was what others demanded
Oblivious I have become of who I was
Let’s find it together for a mutual cause
I will trust you this one last time
And one we shall become, you and I

A new day of spring in cool breeze sprints
As gentle winds glide with joy on their wings
Swaying gracefully from blossoming trees
Whistling in meadows of emerging green
Dawn welcomes me while rising up drizzling
Gathering in puddles and rushing in streams
Playing hide and seek with glimpses of sun
Roaming darkened vistas on cloudy horizon
As winter's end hears the call of my garden
Resurgence it sees of perennial vegetation
Dreaming of budding cherry blossom flowers
Blooming among lilacs, lavender and purple
Happily you smile in exuberance that enlivens
Lakes and the rivers, and season's aspirations
For you've heard the chatter of nesting birds
And buzz of honeybees relishing sweet nectar
When darkness cedes to golden bright sunrise
Mauve tinges soften the cobalt blue skyline
As sun's glow blushes in purview of your eyes
Scattering pink desires on fervid orange skies
