A Cat May Look At a King

A cat may look at a king
And within his purview might suppose
That he looks not upon a mighty thing
But just on something else beyond his nose

Taking a U-Turn

Born in giftedness of innate purview,
Tending him like tender scion, is vital.
Send him to play, work isn't his battle.
Never let school, for him, be accidental,
Ergo, let's earn his souvenir from this review.

Envy Is a Curse

Envy is a curse,
with the darkest shadow

All yearning left unsettled
—in a greenish cast

Jealousy its evil twin,
beyond veracity’s purview

Coveting the stolen torches
—of all darkness past

A Griot's Purview

When we are young we are blind with eyes open wide
When we are old we know with hearts long shut
Our burden is not the push, but the world inside
Pray for Jerusalem, I always pray for the ****.
You are not young, nor old enough yet to know
Why white must always be the color fresh of snow.

Fading Years

Fading Years Written: by Tom Wright 3/17/2016 As years fade and expire, Dreams vanish, Leaving us to purview life In a rear view mirror, Chock full of what ifs; Long ago is the time Of being the entrée on the table; Now we adapt to the feeling Of the crumb that fell to the floor.

Moments Purview

Steal a moment of leisure
Make a comfortable old style
Only willing to be a good looker
Long lasting wind and moon
Hoping sunrise to shine all day
Resting sunset bring good fortune
Today may a good breath release
Tomorrow our hope will trust life
Future lies in the horizon beacon
All our ambitions are innovation
Of thought provoking mind-boggling
Sigh of sights all shines in the heart.

Hans Lippershey

I was shocked to learn today that the telescope was invented by Hans Lippershey!

I always thought Galileo was the inventor, so I was rather dismayed, I must say!

Though Hans invented it, old Gal perfected it so as to bring into better view,

The shapely blonde in the apartment across the via for his keen purview!

Waiting On Release

Waiting, on release….
That time when your time is frozen still
But as you look out others still going about the mill
Waiting on a release
Mind racing trying to find peace
It’s time to move on but wait
All your thoughts tell you it’s getting late
The event is here, yet it’s on pause
Now you think about weather there was a hidden clause
Patience is a virtue
Even more so when the time is just in purview
Jailed in time
Free in mind

Escape From Purple

Purple facial bruises portrayed how her dreams died,
and purple blurs mocked her heart that numbly cried.

Mute were the many broken layers she kept concealed.
Frozen fears could melt her down if allowed revealed.

Nowhere was anyone in whom she could safely confide.
Her nightmare shared could snare another terror-tied.

Tonight, she’d run with strangers who individually knew
fragments of her whole escape from purple’s purview.

Healing Sincerity

please my heart begs you stifle each false thought
i see wounding words forming in your eyes

spoken false words will shape us more distraught
than the swelled tussle we now realize

best we speak core truth lest we spin crosswise i urge healing sincerity from you not jabs to maim me thoroughly dark blue let your heart tenderly engage with mine that our fine love may strengthen its purview of harmonies value in its design
