walking most of life
within brackets
a comma always in front of my steps
if in the right mood
an accent over my head
but those moments dwindle
nobody notices my question marks
or speech marks it seems
often then exclamation
fearing as we all do
the full stop

For a ticked off woman, she’s refreshingly brief;
a quick, punctuated rage is her leitmotif.

When you looked in to my eyes, my heart was stolen
I felt butterflies all the way down to my colon :P
When you kissed me in the dark
With an exclamation, I left on you, a mark
You gave me the ‘hy’ and together we had ‘phen’ :D
With the chemistry we shared, marathons I did run
I got comfortable and called you in my room for tea
Oh! how i desired to be your possessive apostrophe
Whenever I have been blue or down with heat rash
To my rescue without a second thought, you will dash
At times I do drift and look at some Caramel Chris
But back in your warm arms you have nested me in a loving parenthesis
Many times, I desire to elope or live with you in a comma
When societal full stops are visible from near and far.

Cant lift my eyes beyond half past seven anymore
Nay! I do not wish to see...
Past hyphens and inverted commas
Lies and more catastrophe
Ambidextrous clock with appalling brevity
The second hand throws away society
Caught on the hook of an apostrophe
Hit and run humanity
With what shall I beseech thee?
Amix with soot and grime am I today
I painted me....! I mascara'd me!
Not this... warpaint for smudges
A discard of society
Sunk in dank mediocrity
Left to dream on the periphery
Sacked and sold with all their niceties
And pensioned off into obscurity
Cascading through the fingers of our hands
Groans the running Namib sands
Camel plods along ignoring facts
Dali's clock is molten wax - a mystery
Certain as Terrabyte and Megabitten memory
Omits to call- forgets to visit me

I’m a primitive thinker and not very smart,
But what wisdom you find here comes straight from the heart.
Let me not self-aggrandize, I’m one of life’s fools,
And my pathway is marked by the bodies of rules.
I’m a chief among sinners: your low – I’ve been there,
And for much of my life lived unbothered with care.
My attention was focused on personal gain,
When I wasn’t wrapped up in a battle with pain,
With no deep expectations of help from above
Reconciled to my living a life without love.
But then one day enlightenment came I confess
And convinced me to give up on solving my mess.
What a gift when I let God’s Grace deal with my sin
For it opened my heart to let others come in.
