Is it disobedience if I want to submit?
I always was something of a protester;
Normally I want to be left alone,
but those rules don’t apply to you;
Forgive my disobedience,
I want to be endlessly adored;
Every corner of the room just fades,
you will crave me like I crave you;
I promise you I’m okay walking alone;
I’ve done it all before;
But if you are my man?
That simply just won’t do;
You’ll want my disobedience
and will never let me feel alone;
You don’t have to say a word,
its written all over everything you do;
Encouraging deviant behavior,
yet reminding me only with you;
Dominance is a game we play,
laughing at self inflicted rules;
Is it disobedience if I want to submit?
I always was something of a protester.

Effigy of hearts burning
Opinion waving waves of banners,
Dire insult collides with crying
A nation on the parade of fires.
This time, the world is a drawing tide
Excuses no longer secure a shoreline.
Protester voices calling from the inside
Thoughts like these taken by the time.
Injustice is more than a crime
In the strongest bonds for those who die.
This time, may their voices shine
Lift their names as gems to grow high.
And bloomed, and witness and breathe
Inside the womb not severed by death.

Young Swedish School girl
Greta Thunberg
Climate change protester
Is surely a sticky topic to discuss
Due to her admirable her intentions
But does a burgeoning teenager
Really have the ability to comprehend the actual facts surrounding such a complex diverse topic
And should the world's media outlets really be listening or giving her airtime
Or is this merely just a good will
news story that no 1 should question
Because no 1 should question the great intentions of young people
Even if there facts and statements
are ill informed
Or rather would the children she is amassing to
march and stay off school
Not be better served staying in and
learning more about these things

Fists raised in anger.
Protest against inequality,
inequity, all biases,
poverty and hunger.
Wet and cold forecast.
March cancelled.
Pumpkin spice latte please.

We are here
loud and clear.
We are determined to stay.
Nothing you can do will make us go away.
We are a formidable force.
Solid as an Iowa farm horse.
We are the protesters.
The mighty mighty protesters.
We protest everything that has been done before.
We protest you and every system, anything, everything and more.
We are staying for the duration.
We are here to show the nation.
We are here, loud and clear.
Nothing can make us leave this corner so dear.
Except that.
Bye.

I Pity the Poor Protester
as he tries to make his case
discredited at every turn
by the ones who run this place
now he’s got some big ideas
with new tools in his hand
and he still can’t put it down in words
that they will understand
CHORUS
To cut these iron chains
Tear down the old machines
Will take more than words
Will take more than dreams
I Pity the Poor Protester
as he takes his virgin punch
in the basement of his enemies
while his friends are out to lunch
and if his idealism turns to hatred and disgust
he’ll be no stronger, and no longer
someone you can trust
but if he’s genuine
to shake him from his cause
will take more than fists
will take more than laws
CHORUS
I Pity the Poor Protester
I really wish him well
though his message may be muddled
it rings clear as a bell
for through his growing network
if you read between the lines
injustice comes in many forms
and comes too many times
he’s losing everything
some have too much to lose
I Pity the Poor Protester
now whose side do you choose?
